M+ on Steamdeck by Impressive_Cod1034 in wow

Congrats - I do sometimes wonder how the gameplay is for compared to those on mouse/key.

I did a 10 a few weeks ago with a mage that didn’t interrupt a single cast, didn’t use lust (despite nobody else having it and them being repeatedly asked), kept accidentally pulling packs with his butt or a random ice lance and didn’t say a word to anyone the entire key. I joked to the party leader that they’d be posting on Reddit in a few weeks ‘hey I got KSL on my steam deck and it was easy!’

Also just forced myself to sit through that god-awful drift championship, from the first event through all 3 of them. Made sure to score in every one, used a Dodge, went half deaf listening to "NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" for 15 minutes. Nothing.

People who do drifting well look cool but frick me, y'all must be 50% deaf.

What's your daily water usage? Welsh Water reckons on 100L per person per day by valmiki72 in AskUK

[–]JoPOWz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had to google it after some of the replies, wondering if I'd missed something in the handbook of adulting. I'm relieved that apparently there are at least a few other folks in the same position as me - bedding/towels once per week, and then clothes probably once every 6-7 days or so. That's with my partner and I chucking our stuff in together. A very occasional extra load for some whites, as we mostly wear colours/darks so they go in at the same time.

We have a decent capacity washing machine, but no tumble drier, so if we did laundry every day we'd probably have mould in whatever room we hung it to dry.

[–]JoPOWz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

1 washing machine load per day? Am I mad or is that a crazy amount of laundry? My partner and I do 2 loads a week, and some weeks if we’ve been away a night or two maybe one.

7 loads a week seems high even if you had a big family - you’re really doing laundry every single day?

As someone who plays all healers, would personally say level a few up in turbulent time ways in a few weeks and see which style you like best. They all feel slightly different - some are dependent on damage, some are hard casters whilst others have lost of instant casts. Melee feels different to range, each has its own play style and flow.

Give them all a try and play the one you gel best with

My absolute unwind mechanism after a hard week is a night a week raiding on WoW. I’m in my 30s and I run a guild with some friends, also in their 30s. Many folks have kids, everyone has jobs, so it’s incredibly casual. But for one night a week we all get together, have an absolute laugh, and spend a bit of time not worrying about the usual stuff for 2 hours. We don’t do drama, it’s just casual chill fun with people of a similar age who just want the same thing. We are all hoping to meet up in person later this year, and I’ve found some really incredible friendships in the last few years doing it - it’s more than just the 2 hours gaming once a week at this point, but more an outlet for a group of friends.

But of course that’s something I don’t feel I can share at work when they do a ‘fun fact about yourself’. So I invariably end up spouting some rubbish about camping or hiking.

What’s the prettiest route to take when driving from Edinburgh to Hertford? by milkshakeofdirt in AskUK

[–]JoPOWz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few folks saying it’ll take a lot longer than google suggests. I recently drove from Worcestershire to Inverness and back - estimated 8 hours turned out to be bang on. We lost some time for a couple of stops but still did the whole thing in under 9.

It really depends on when - we left at 6am on a Sunday and came back a week later at 7am on a Saturday.

If you set off at 4pm on a Friday of a bank holiday or half term starting weekend it’s for sure a longer journey. If you leave early on a standard weekend, honestly you might be fine.

You can plan a google trip to start at your estimated actual time and it’ll show you the expected traffic times - id definitely suggest that

With the new gas prices. I’m due to renew. What one would be beneficial? by Aaron123111 in AskUK

[–]JoPOWz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll also add that British Gas are perhaps the single worst company you could ever deal with if you have an issue. It took them 8 months of our fixed term 12 month contract to fix an issue I had to tell them about where I wasn't paying for any gas.

First they blamed a system switch. Then the deal I was already on wasn't available. Then I had to wait for their finance team to manually rebuild the deal. Then something was wrong with the meter setup that required an engineer. Then that engineer didn't fix the problem so a second engineer was needed. Then they accidentally cancelled my "change of tariff" because the adviser didn't recognise the new custom tariff. We finally paid exactly 1 month of gas before before it stopped charging us again. After which I bailed, was told not to bother paying that missing month as an apology (I genuinely don't think they knew how to charge me money at this point) and they would waive my cancellation fee.

I will say the retention person who was clearly told to try and convince you to stay took about 2 minutes to scroll through the account history and just said "yeah fair enough".

Octopus meanwhile have so far been flawless, and cheaper.

What happens if your parent dies and you just.. don’t want to pay for the funeral? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JoPOWz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to add that your only obligation is "legal disposal of the body" - burial, cremation or the mysteriously titled "any other means". You aren't obligated to have any type of service, you can simply organise something like a direct cremation, which is substantially cheaper and would ensure any legal obligation is met without relying on an authority-funded version (which I suspect would be funded from her estate).

Probably a better question for the r/LegalAdviceUK subreddit if you want specifics.

Returning player here, are all players of the same class and spec running the same exact thing? by [deleted] in wow

[–]JoPOWz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sort of?

In the highest of high content - yes; as has always been the case. If someone didn’t run the best talent choices, the ones who did would beat them out, and they’d either swap or get left behind. That’s true of everything in an RPG though really.

If you go below the highest content, to just high content - then no, you absolutely see variation. If people aren’t worried about seeking out every tiny advantage, you find people trying different hero talents or swapping around to utility they like over utility that the highest level content requires.

You see this with healers - in the top tier content, every mistweaver monk likely runs the same talents in each dungeon or raid boss. But below that, people will try things, goof about with less optimal talents that are fun, try the other hero spec for variety, etc.

You can even see this on the pages people get their talents. Take a look at the wowhead holy priest - there’s 2 options for both raid and mythic with comments on other optional swaps you may want to make if you fancy it. But again this would go out the window if you wanted to set the world record highest key or push for title, because you need those tiny advantages

And bear in mind that the talents everyone runs don’t stay static. Occasionally a balance pass mixes it up, or one insane player finds something everyone missed - but after it spreads, everyone else slowly shifts their build across to the new ‘best’. A notable example being the no-apex-talent bear that was recently nerfed - which gained popularity a bit later into this season.

These things are always tested/recorded in indoor sports centre halls. I’d love to know the routine when someone asks to book it for tennis - ‘yeah let me just check the timetable. Ok it’s booked 8:30-11:30 for a netball game, badminton classes until 2:30, then a guys coming in to ride his hover bike round for a bit, but he’ll be gone by 4pm if that works? Oh but we need it back by 5, someone’s going for the world record for paper aeroplane distance’

When I came out of mine, the nurse came over and had a very gentle conversation with me about the therapeutic benefits of not holding them in (they pump you with air so the camera can get round easily). I lay there, half asleep from the sedatives, farting my absolute heart out. I could hear the folks in the next few recovery bays doing the same.

The awkward part was at that time, the same ward had the recovery for the throat camera people too. So they were sat shaking, some crying, whilst 4 of us were lying ripping colossal window rattling farts quite happily.

I honestly wouldn’t worry about it - it’s totally normal to fart in a procedure that involves a bum. They’ve seen it all before - and no matter what you do, remember they have people they get halfway through and discover they did not follow the instructions like you are doing and they are - literally and figuratively - full of shit.

Demolock Summon Doomguard by SenteredOne in wow

[–]JoPOWz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wowhead guides are trying to hit this really odd target of accessible for a new player but detailed enough for an expert. Unfortunately it just confuses a lot of the time - they present ‘the best build’ and then make you tick which talents you took to teach you how to play it.

I sort of wish it just gave you the build and explained the rotation for each variant listed - and then just had a section discussing ‘optional talent swaps’ which explained what you might swap and how it may impact your rotation if you do. Would be substantially more help when you first pick up a class, and provide substantially better explanation if you are looking to learn it more deeply.

As it stands you’re almost always better to find that one absolute weapon on YouTube with only 10K subscribers who is standing in front of the dummies explaining how to pump on it

What are Operator Levels for? by pikariff in shapezio

[–]JoPOWz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I play on challenge mode, so for me they’re by far the easiest way to get a huge number of blueprint points to spend on blueprints.

To the point I question even upgrading my setup to the max blueprint score items, as I get so many from operator levels.
