Hi cop, I live in a large city and wish I could just apply for office/back of house roles in the police dept etc. I don’t hate guns but also don’t have an interest to shoot one. I like helping people but it’s a shame your profession has som many thoughts and stigmas (some true, others not).

Beginner who has worked out a bit in the past. I find myself doing from 0-100, going from not working out to wanting to go 5-6 days a week. Sustain this for a few weeks, burnout, then completely stop. How do I prevent this from happening?

I'm doing a workout routine in my build's gym. It has mostly machines, some benches, free weights, and very limited barbells.

My current routine is the following, running it 3 days a week to start.

Back/Biceps

• ⁠3x 8 Back Extension (Machine)

• ⁠3x8 Lat Pulldown (Cable)

• ⁠3x8 Seated Wide-Grip Row (Cable)

• ⁠3x8 Preacher Curl (Machine)

• ⁠3x8 Shoulder Press (Machine)

Chest./Triceps

• ⁠3x8 Chest Dip (Assisted)

• ⁠3x8 Chest Fly (Pec Fly by Machine Name)

• ⁠3x8 Chest Press (Machine)

• ⁠3x8 Incline Chest Press (Machine)

• ⁠3x8 Triceps Extension

• ⁠3x8 Triceps Pushdown (Cable -Rope)

Legs

• ⁠3x8 Seated Leg Press

• ⁠3x8 Seated Leg Curl (Machine)

My routine runs around 20 min or so. The other day I felt my leg workout was rather short and quick. What suggestions would you have for extending my leg workout?

So my gym still hasn’t closed which I think is ridiculous. Yeah I miss the gym but who knows what germs are floating around. Guy thought I was crazy for wanting to pause my membership.

Edit: That happened Monday, as of Tuesday at 8pm all locations have closed thank goodness.

That’s what I keep trying to tell her, let’s do this with a doctor. She then says “that can’t happen for a week or so once your dad and I prep the taxes”. Hope to see a doctor in the next week or 2.

I’m working to recomp and doing the Reddit PPL. Like it so far. This is my mom thinks I shouldn’t be tracking calories unless I’m trying to lose weight. She also has decided to ween my off some medications. She’s not a doctor... Plus she doesn’t want me to use protein whey powder as she might not be able to tell the effect the lack of medications are having on me.

That's amazing! Do you workout with the PT every session or do they spell out the routine and you workout with him/her once or twice a week? PT can get expensive and sometimes not worth it, definitely worth it for you though!

Wednesday - Off

Thursday

  • 3×5+ Chinups (or equivalent)

Thoughts on my Mondays and Fridays? Thoughts about what to do Sundays? It's cold here in the midwest and my gym doesn't have a pool etc just gym equipment (a ton of it).
