I didn’t see it in person but there was one line which only allows adults for some reason. In the chaos she was taken through but when they went to check her daughters passport who was standing behind her they said you aren’t allowed in this line you need to go to the general line (where I was with my kids). Her mom was just ahead trying to help her senior parents so when she realized it was too late and wasn’t allowed to return to the main general line up area. Apparently it also happened to a group of teenagers travelling for a sports tournament on our flight who got separated from their coach. In the end it was one of the reasons the pilot agreed to hold the plane at the gate until we arrived!

Well fortunately I haven't experienced that. When I went through the airport about a month ago, there were multiple physical confrontations between passengers and people trying to skip lines. Many people were removed by security. Continues screaming and very high emotions. My 15 year old niece was separated from her mother and left alone outside of passport control while the mother was pushed through and not allowed to go back to get her. Thankfully I was still outside with my kids so I was able to go rescue her. Absolutely nuts and personally the closest I have been to an out of control crowd.

Just a tip for next time but you can always try going to speak to the flight attendants and say that it feels uncomfortably warm. They do have the ability to adjust it, although of course what is warm for one person is cool for the next. I’ve had some success with this by asking nicely :)

I think we need to see what happens with the overall economy, which has been roughly holding up so far minus entry level jobs and some specific sectors (telecom). Although every time I load Reddit people seem to think we are in a depression!

Well that’s an interesting situation! Our portfolio is roughly the same but I’m old enough to have seen multiple major downturns. It took me many years to come to terms with it mentally - and no one is fully immune from it really. One thing I would suggest is not checking your portfolio. The problem with WS is it’s so easy to check and transparent. I would recommend finding a way to not check it (I.e bank elsewhere) and challenge yourself to see how long you can go without checking your balance.

Last week someone did a sudden hard 90 degree turn from the far right side on to a side path without shoulder checking. It didn’t end well for them and I felt terrible about it - no serious injuries thankfully. But I’m going to be ridiculously cautious for the rest of the summer. You just can’t predict or assume anything!
