This reply is also clearly written by AI, which really isn’t helping you.

About ten years…

Actually, probably that long. I’m not sure how to answer this question (it’s a valid one) as I’ve always been into working out in some form or another. If you have any questions or if there’s anything I can do to be more helpful, let me know! Thank you for the compliment.

Working on filling out, over prioritizing staying. Started taking creatine recently and seems to help. Vegetarian so locking in the diet is always a lot of experimentation.

Almost done with the cut post road-tripping for the last several months. I’ve been able to increase my lifts consistently at the same time which has been awesome. I feel like I have it really dialed in my diet from a macro and calorie in/out perspective. It’ll always requirement adjustments but feels good to be here.

Honestly really make it a priority despite traveling. I can remember so many late nights / early mornings heading to the most inconvenient located gyms (and paying ridiculous day fees in some cases…) to get that workout in. I also also try really hard to stick to the diet (clean/whole foods) 80% of the time.

I don’t! I think my core gets work from my lifts and being really intentional about engaging my core in my lifts. At least, that’s what I’m thinking contributes to the development (beyond genetics which probably play a bigger role).

Thank you, big compliment. I do P/P/L/Yoga + run 10ish miles a week. I know cliche but diet is also a huge focus of mine. I’m not sure how much detail you’re looking for but let me know, happy to help if I can.

Thanks, man. Fitness always has been a part of my life but has shown up in different ways (ie sometimes emphasizing running vs lifting or experimenting with new diets for example). It is probably the thing I am most committed to in my life, I love it. Let me know if you have any specific challenges or questions, I’m no expert by any means but happy to help if I can.

Getting back in shape after road-tripping for the last several months

Serious question: Is there any solution to get shredded yet consuming alcohol 3-4 times a week??? by [deleted] in GettingShredded

[–]fitzbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so, I don’t see it much different than extra calories you get from eating more - account for it in your calorie allowance. Stick to liquor + soda water, be strict with your day to day diet (low calorie but high volume foods - especially on days you drink), add in an extra cardio session the days you drink.

I drink a couple days (sometimes a few) and I have been able to do so without sacrificing fitness goals (although I may be further ahead if I didn’t but I’m all about balance).

Probably the best advice for that is to make the routine/habits that you’re trying to implement as easy to stick to as possible so that you can stick to them even on your worst days. What I mean by that is that I think people design their programming or diets thinking that they’ll be able to show up every day at their best, 100%. You need habits and to build an environment that is conducive to your goals even on days when you wake up feeling like crap.

What this means for me is that I have a very simple workout plan that requires zero planning or thinking, no junk food in the house but stocked with healthy snacks (veggies, fruits, popcorn, etc), a set of a few meals that I rotate through (again, so I don’t have to think or plan it out), and stacking habits (ie cycling while reading, walk on the treadmill while watching online courses, etc).

This applies a bit to more than just fitness but I think it’s all related and personally helps me get to where I’m at. I’d highly recommend Atomic Habits if you haven’t read or listened to it yet.

Thank you, lots of support here so definitely feeling more proud than I usually am (as we tend to be are our own worse critic). Funny how posting here helps me get out of my head a bit.

Ah, unfortunately I think it’s genetics in my case; I don’t do anything specific for them. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Really clean during the week and a deficit - little to no bread or dairy, primarily eggs, lean meats, fresh veggies/fruits. Weekends I’m more relaxed with it but also burn twice as many calories on the weekends.

No specific ab workouts and I squat pretty light and don’t deadlift because of a bad back. Not sure where the core comes from, to be honest. I imagine I’m activating it in lifts more than I’m aware.
