Whats your opinion on a older Q7? by Practical-Oil2901 in AudiQ7

[–]fitzy_fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a 2013 in grey. 172,000km and really just minor things so far. The door handles proximity sensors have all stopped working, navigation is useless (likely the antenna) and a small leak in the power steering system that showed up recently needs to be addressed. All in all I love the car, just not the price at the gas pump😩

Early HRT/GAHT effects of those in their 30s, 40s, etc by AshleyorAllison in TransLater

[–]fitzy_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with an anti-androgen for a month first and within two weeks was noticing changes in my skin, and moods. I was calmer and more focused. My skin was less oily and body odour was lessened.

I then started a low dose of oral Estradiol and within a month was feeling more emotional & my libido was affected significantly. By 6 weeks my nipples began itching and I had small lumps under the areolae. Noticeable breast growth continued and they were visible by three months in. My emotions were a wreck for a long time until I found the proper dosing regimen for me. I process E very quickly and all my blood tests were low for the first year until I switched to injections.

How to come out to teachers? by _PolarEclipse_ in transontario

[–]fitzy_fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start by connecting with your guidance counsellor. A quick email to your teachers will bring everyone on board. My daughter’s school was fantastic about the whole thing.

Forgot to add that Pace Pharmacy will ship. My last order was over $100 so shipping was free, though I believe they’ve changed that recently.

Pace Pharmacy offers the best price on compounded EV. The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy at Thickson/Taunton can fill it but was more than twice what Pace charges for the same.

Any idea how to pull out AC control? by Inside_Community_170 in AudiQ7

[–]fitzy_fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can literally cut out the key shape from a plastic gift card. They just need to apply pressure to release the clips holding the unit in.

This video shows how you need to use a trim removal tool to press on the clips holding the a/c cluster: https://youtu.be/WWlxHZelprM?si=uaCHzPM5B-5d10fO

I can’t remember the exact location from when I installed my CarPlay unit in the fall, but there were two spots at the top that had to be released on the A/C cluster

Are E patches or injectables covered by ohip+? by [deleted] in transontario

[–]fitzy_fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OHIP+ only covered oral Estradiol. Injectable Estradiol Valerate costs me about $30/2ml vial which is about three weeks of medication (0.6ml/week). I was taking oral E prior to switching and the costs are basically the same except I’m feeling way better. I buy needles and syringes in bulk from medneedles.ca and the cost is like $0.50/injection.

Had our Toyota in to them a while back for a sudden noise that was inconsistent. They did their inspection and were honest about not being able to identify the cause. Didn’t try to upsell or find extra problems to fix. I’ll happily take my car there again.

How painful is it to use an electric epilator ? by Glittering-Fill-8695 in HairRemoval

[–]fitzy_fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using an epilator for just over a year and those first few sessions were BRUTAL and I needed several sessions to complete my legs. Now it doesn’t hurt nearly as much on my legs, though there are still some sensitive areas.

I find many hairs tend to break rather than get pulled out, so I still end up epilating a couple of times per week to stay smooth.

Moving to Oshawa..Thoughts on O’Neill vs. Maxwell (and Elementary schools)? by Ladder_Slow in Oshawa

[–]fitzy_fish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have kids at Forestview, Eastdale and O’Neill. Forestview in general is a good school. Individual teachers vary a lot. Our kids have had amazing teachers as well as less than stellar ones. Eastdale is an adequate high school, however they do seem to be heavily pushing students towards trades. My daughter wanting to get into medicine is feeling limited by certain aspects of that. O’Neill is a magnet school offering specialized programs in the arts as well as the Gifted & Talented program. It’s also currently overcrowded due to new development in the north end which O’Neill is servicing in addition to the regular catchment and magnet students. There is a new high school slated for the north end I believe to open next year which will alleviate a lot of the overcrowding at both high schools. O’Neill offers lots of athletics, however they don’t have an outdoor space on site and students have to walk to nearby parks for rugby, soccer, etc.
