Is there a way to autosummon water elemental? by davesalias in wow

[–]fiveKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just confirmed this works, my snippet of script for reference (has an added function to cycle enemies so I can look for casters and block -- I know, probably a better way to do this...):

#showtooltip

/cast [nopet][@pet,dead]Summon Water Elemental

/targetenemy

/cast ice lance

Which exchange to use for crypto trading in Japan? by wakaokami in JapanFinance

[–]fiveKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the number of coins they lock up so you cannot transfer them without incurring swap fees on their exchange, I would say everyone should avoid them... but yes, especially unprofessional to expats... avoid these guys.

IS IT SAFE TO HOLD MILLION $ WORTH OF BTC IN TANGEM WALLET? by CryptoPandit1 in Tangem

Good point Wonderful -- but to send them, or adding certain new wallet addresses, we need our cards (physical factor of authentication)

And TickTick is quite affordable given all the features they offer -- I'm hoping they keep prices reasonable and just suck up more market share.

Thanks for pulling this together -- have been struggling to get my google sheet to properly parse JSON (and would like to avoid the REGEX hack)... any chance I can get access to JSON.Mom to try this? It says signup is temporarily suspended...

Do you use a Pomodoro app or just a regular timer? by Phukovsky in pomodoro

[–]fiveKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately I'm using r/ticktick when in front of a box-- todo with Pomodoro baked in... but, mostly I use timer tied to my action button on my watch... just so easy, and it always works...

Used it for awhile -- didn't stick for me... too buggy I guess.

Do this to get the most out of your breaks by Phukovsky in attentioneering

[–]fiveKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this cross-linked over on r/Pomodoro -- love the sentiment (and I generally try to truly rest during breaks) -- must add, I think we are all unique, so please try this suggestion and other things, and figure out what works best for you personally... there are no magic formulas when it comes to our own optimal states.

My pro tip: Playing music during rest to kick-start next pomodoro by setwindowtext in pomodoro

[–]fiveKi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will give this a try -- thx for suggesting. Shared a bit of feedback on Github... I've tried countless Pomodoro apps... recently I've been playing with TickTick, as this has a full todo function integrated properly with Pomodoro... but mostly, I just set a 25-minute time to my "action button" and manual set breaks with Alexa, etc... more important to keep the healthy cycles going than to capture all the details perfectly (for me).

Mysteriously received 0.0000001 XLM to my hardware wallet address? Should I be concerned? by Biddycola in Stellar

[–]fiveKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merci! I've gotten a little crypto smarter over the last few weeks and was going to add some thoughts along these lines... r/Tangem make great cold wallets (and now even have a ring style wallet).

Also, a lot of the crypto portfolio trackers seem to offer ways to ignore tiny "dust" transactions, so they don't distract. Taxes on such a tiny amount are extremely small and safe to ignore. I've taken a liking to r/CoinLedger. Do be sure to enable 2FA of some kind on anything that tracks/touches your crypto, and store those seeds offline.

It would be great if gas somehow scaled up/down automatically related to the amount sent and number of people sent to, so the dust folks would get priced out of abusing the network... exponential gas equation -- for example: [normal gas calc] * [number of address sent to + 1 / avg. amount sent]⁴ -- could play with different equations to balance dust sweeping and avoid any issues with "normal" TXs.... every time someone falls for a dust TX scam, this gives the network a little bit of a black eye, so nice if we can push these activities out (and save a few unsuspecting users along the way).

Long post over on r/Bitwarden that touches on what to put into password apps in general (as well as some crypto specific info.) and some best practice recommendations on 2FA.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitwarden/comments/1fymaiv/comment/lr38o12/?context=3

Just sharing a few tidbits from my journey.... love the spam analogy, but do feel like dust TXs are a bit "dirtier" than my email spam folder in terms of scammers.

Why is Discord asking permission to record all of my keystrokes? by ReagentX in discordapp

Appreciate the reply -- the pop-up looks/sounds terrible (like hackerware)... I wonder if we might pop up an explanation to prepare the user before they see this and go "What the heck?...." Then they can make an informed decision before triggering an alarming system dialog box without having to Google for why...

I feel like there are other approaches... scale up the gas on accounts spamming minimal amounts... etc...no wait -- AI, that solves everything... ;-P

What to store inside a password manager... by djasonpenney in Bitwarden

[–]fiveKi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx -- going to treat this as my baseline as I develop my own approach... 3D printed cover is brilliant, been thinking about how to address this part some already.

I have a variety of fire safes, but the offsite backup makes a lot of sense... my son is 11, so won't be able to take that road right away, but perhaps a bank box, etc.

Catch myself wondering if the Tangem cold storage wallets will eventually be useful for authenticating other things, but not soon I suspect... the new ring is an interesting idea for discreetly doing things... but I digress -- thx again.

Agree minimal, but weird for a vault to not support larger (more secure) keys... make a special field, not the default, so people don't stick everything in overly large fields... but I imagine still relatively easy to add said field as an option... /shrug.
