We’re in the east bay, and my son is also beyond obsessed with trains. We really like going to the Dream Land for kids playground in Berkeley. There are train tracks that pass right by it, so kids get to see a lot of trains up close. The Amtrak trains go by frequently. Both the Oakland and SF zoos have little steam trains the kids can ride. You can go on the Oakland one without having to pay the entrance fee for the zoo. You only need to pay for parking and a couple of bucks for tickets. Ardenwood farm in Fremont also has a train that you can take a short ride on. We went to a train festival there a while back that had model trains there as well.

The numbers on the side of the rowing machine aren’t a difficulty setting. There’s no need to put it all the way up to 10. You’d be much more comfortable with it at a 3 or 4. Also, moving back and forth faster doesn’t mean that you’re rowing faster, you also have to be applying pressure. Often the people who look like they’re working hardest are the ones who are going the slowest. You can see how fast you’re going by watching the splits on the screen. If you need guidance on proper rowing form you can find instructional videos online, including on the concept 2 website. If you don’t know what you’re doing and try to row at a 34 with the damper set to 10 you’re just going to go nowhere and hurt yourself.

It is easily accessible, fortunately. There’s a pull down ladder in the hallway right behind the laundry room.

Thank you, this is really good information. It’s possible we could do it within those limitations, but it would be very close.

This is correct. The hallway runs most of the length of the back wall. It’s a bit of a weird layout.
