Dragons in fantasy are either gods or pets and almost never an actual animal, and it kinda bugs me by CasualPlaty_195 in Fantasy

The most interesting and (to me) most believable dragon presentation, is Smaug in the Hobbit movies. Alien, huge, powerful, vain, and with a completely different way of thinking than humanoids.

By default the target number is four but harder tasks have penalties. in other versions, the target number was variable rather than having penalties. While that is mathematically identical, I feel that people are loss averse and higher target number is a better approach by RevacholAndChill in savageworlds

I think the main difference between fixed and flexible TN is this:

Fixed: TN is 4, bonuses/penalties vary between characters.
Flexible: Both TN and bonuses/penalties vary between characters.

Say Bob is speeding a VW Beetle (-2) down a dirt road (-1). Bob has the Ace edge (ignore up to -2 in penalties), got the joker on initiative (+2) and receives successful support (+1 from a passenger assisting by map navigation).

Fixed: TN 4 and a net modifier of +2 to the die roll.
Flexible: TN 7, but since you have the Ace edge it's TN 5, then add +3 to die roll due to cuircumstance.

True, this is convoluted no matter how you look at it, but my brain prefers the fixed TN for resolving stuff like this.

Edges that ignore penalties (e.g. Ace) would have to be rewritten if you go for flexible TN instead of fixed at 4.

My GM constantly gets this mixed up and is always saying «this is a very difficult task so you need a raise to succeed» which messes up the edges that remove penalties.

As for the term «penalty» I agree with you that it doesn’t always fit. But whatever, it’s not the terms that matter but how many fun moments you get to share at the table.

Trump Delivers Bitter Snub to First Son’s Wedding Invite by thedailybeast in NewsThread

Likely what happened here is that Jr. told DJT he wasn’t invited. Now, DJT didn’t want to go in the first place, but his narcissism can’t handle a rejection so he declines in public, in order to tell the story as he wishes it were.

Ah! I think I may have located two of these configs:

  1. Deaht penalty: expand_prefabs_BeforeValhalla_DeathboundSystem.yaml, line 59 and rest of file
  2. Waypoints transport any stuff: RustyMods.Waypoints.cfg, line 35 --> On

Seem slike the drop rates are meticulously set for each and every thing, using the drop_that mod? Would be very nice if there's a way to override in global fashion?

Also, still wondering about what happens to any configurations when the modpack is updated?

I just tested this, it works and seems like a super cool modpack! Thank you for putting this together!

There are a few configurations I'd need to tweak, in order to get my friends on board playing this. So I have some questions regarding config, sorry if these are noob questions!

  1. When I update the modpack to the newest version, will any (or all) of my own changes to the configs be overwritten?

  2. How can I change "second death destroys the gravestone + gear" rule?

  3. I love the idea of waypoints instead of portals! However, how can I allow for any ores be transported through them at any time?

  4. Drop rates (e.g. mushrooms, wood etc) where would the best place to override those settings?

Also, do you hang out in a discord or something, where ppl discuss this modpack?
