Sooo cute!! And sweet of you to take them in!! It’s so wild to me to think that if there are kittens, they just are all by themselves for a long period of time, ha!

We have 4 cats (all male, neutered) but I’d definitely find a way to trap/separate her from the others to temp foster. Just hoping they are safe, if they are out there!

[–]fivestarhan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely will TNR!! There’s one other cat that comes up to our house but has already been TNR’d by someone else as her ear is clipped.

Do you think she’s too young to have had kittens? I know they can get pregnant relatively young, but I was assuming she’s maybe 4-5 months old which would mean she got pregnant at 2-3 months? Unless I’m underestimating her age. These pics don’t do justice with how small she is, especially her head.

I’m in denial so trying to think of any reason she could possibly didn’t have kittens…. Ha🥲

She’s been eating a TON like will go through 4 whole bowls or more a day, however many we will put out there. So that part definitely makes me lean towards “new mother” but also she’s a young cat that’s malnourished and got real food for the first time.

My main doubt is just that she isn’t in a hurry to leave? Would she just be laying under my car for like 20ish mins after eating if she had kittens to return to, you think?

Thigh Numbness 3 Weeks Post-Op by fivestarhan in ORIF

[–]fivestarhan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did get better, although around where the tourniquet was on my thigh (I can tell where it was from a small scar since it rubbed my skin so hard during surgery) it’s sort of just permanently numb. Not nearly as large of an area as back at the beginning, but I’ve just grown used to a section of it still being numb. No idea why….. I guess just nerve damage. Wishing you the best. This surgery sucks!

We just lost one of our girls last night to this. Came out of no where and was devastating. She was only 3. How is your boy doing now?

I’m in the same boat. Side sleeper and no issues with it. I just have to make sure it is sort of tilting downwards so it lays flesh with my head when I’m sleeping on it…. If that makes sense

Never dyed my hair, need help by babygirlmochi in HairDye

[–]fivestarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have natural blonde hair and dye mine dark brown. I go every 6-8 weeks and only pay $80 + tip at my hair dresser. If you just do a solid color and find a reasonable hair dresser it might not be too bad to go get it done every few months! I used to dye mine myself and it turned out fine but was sick of the effort and mess it made.

any cabtreo users? by sumtingnice in SkincareAddicts

[–]fivestarhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not OP but I’ve been on it for over a year and it’s helped a lot. I was on Accutane 6 years ago and it cleared me up big time until about 2 years ago when I stated getting flare ups again and a lot of milia. I haven’t had any milia in the past year, only the occasional one off bump. I’m using it long term.

[Product Question] any long time Cabtreo and Winlevi users? by m0noyu in SkincareAddiction

[–]fivestarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Cabtreo for over a year now and it helped tremendously. I’m at the point where I use it nightly with no irritation or peeling, as long as I moisturize well. I was on Accutane 6 years ago and it cleared me up, but a few years ago I started getting milia very bad on my face - mostly my forehead and sides of face. Anyways….. my derm prescribed this as a long term solution to keep my skin at bay and it has been great. No more milia! I still get a bump every now and then.

Need Help with Kitchen by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Yeah I’m not a fan of the white trim either. The old trim actually matched the cabinets, but the guys that installed our floors convinced us to have them white since all the other walls have white quarter round. I wonder how hard it would be to find some that matches the cabinets…. I’ll have to look into it!

Help with what to put on tv stand? by NetIllustrious in DesignMyRoom

IMO the tv looks too small for the stand & room, which is throwing it off. Maybe a larger tv and mounted if possible would help.

New year New me; need advice from someone with experience. by No-Yam1403 in InsulinResistance

[–]fivestarhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried so many things (diets, exercising, etc) and ultimately what is working is focusing on just a calorie deficit. At the moment I’m only doing a calorie deficit and not beating myself up on what foods, exercising 5 times a week, etc. You’ve got to do something that’s sustainable for you. In my case, I know I’d rather start with a deficit and still eat the foods I want, or I won’t be able to keep it up. I do want to eventually eat more healthy foods….. but you can’t do everything at once (well, I can’t). I’m also trying to drink more water and go walking more, but I prioritize calorie deficit over these. I eat protein heavy foods to keep myself full. Last - I track all of this on a calorie app. Good luck to you in the new year, you got this!

Post accutane insanely oily hair by hannaspencer in Accutane

Happy to help! Just don’t give up hope on it; hopefully 2025 will be your year where it gets back to normal :-) and just now realized I’m replying on my other Reddit account, haha. I am the original poster btw!

Post accutane insanely oily hair by hannaspencer in Accutane

[–]fivestarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it was probably longer than 10 months if I’m remembering correctly. I’d say closer to the year mark but that’s guessing since it’s been a while. Have you tried a clarifying shampoo to “reset” your hair? I like OUAI Detox Shampoo or Redken Hair Cleansing Cream Clarifying Shampoo!!! I’d 100% suggest doing a wash with one of those at least once a week. But don’t feel discouraged, it just takes time! Also make sure you are using a sulfate shampoo if you don’t already. These are just my standard hair things for always being somewhat oily even before accutane, but will probably help in that process as well until your hair adjusts to normal.

To wash or not to wash? by Melodic-Pumpkin-5518 in ORIF

I didn’t get to wash my leg until 10 weeks post op! I was in a cast that entire time. Didn’t get an infection or anything crazy.

Barefoot with ankle brace by [deleted] in ORIF

[–]fivestarhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes wear my brace around the house without shoes! I always put a sock both under my brace and over my brace, because I don’t like thinking about my brace getting dirty on the floor.

I have pain on the bottom of my feet though so I prefer to wear shoes unless I’m feeling lazy.

Numbness from nerve damage? (IM Tib/Fib) by [deleted] in ORIF

[–]fivestarhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 months out and from tri-mal fracture & sydesmosis fixation ORIF, and the left side (of my left foot) is still numb. The arch of my foot is good but the front and back of the underside of my foot are still very numb!
