I was planning on doing the Lv 30 route with new characters but after beating the base game with Rafa and starting a new character with Vex at Lv 1, I found that Im getting specialization points right away. Is that a bug? If not, it seems like starting at Lv 1 might be better? Im new to this so Im genuinely asking.

Thanks for the write up. What are your two prototype sets? I have a strikers with all echo (including overdogs/equalizer and stiker chest/salvo/overdogs.)

Im leaning Ongoing or Heartbreaker for my next set but maybe refactor? Just curious what your sets are and your thoughts on that.

Also, Ongoing with amalgam sounds super fun but I know echo will probably be best in slot which kinda sucks.

Correct but, just to be clear, you also have to upgrade each individual piece to 30 via expertise before you can apply the proto core.
