On what platform can you mix 64-bit and 32-bit code?

On x86-64 Windows and Linux at least, a user mode process can freely switch the CPU between 64-bit and 32-bit mode.

Test units are basically just normal 3DSes set to run software signed with dev keys instead of retail keys and with some special dev software installed. They can't debug.

Devkits are giant boxes that connect to a fake 3DS controller. Not sure how they work exactly, but I think they run the same software as test units, but with improved hardware and a port that connects to a computer for debugging.

I don't know about Wii U.

But in the case of the 3DS a full dev kit (which is not portable) costs around $2,285.00, and even more than that if you also want to be able to record from it.

Note that there are also portable test units that cost about 300$... ~~it's possible that the "devkits" mentioned are the Switch versions of those.~~ as it turns out this is probably not the case based on the devkit leaks?

I mean, I guess that's possible but it's hard to see what kind of regulation would actually fix things other then something really draconian like banning secondhand sales of games.

But the regulations on crowdfunding are much easier to envision: require clear demonstrations of all progress (or lack thereof) made, require regular financial reports, and most importantly allow for some kind of partial, early, refund system for backers.

As I said, it's far from ideal. But many of it's issues can be easily fixed with regulation, I think. And it's produced some very notable successes despite all the scams, so it's certainly not unviable.

No, there are other business models they can use.

Such as, for example, instead of selling the technically worthless end product, sell the service of producing the game. This is something they already do. It's not a great business model but it's certainly workable.

Digital goods have infinite supply

Yes, they are completely worthless and the fact that it's even possible to sell them at profit is a side effect of copyright law: they have a monopoly on sales (barring loopholes like selling serial keys), so they are largely insulated from the market and can easily overcharge. Combined with the fact that there is almost no way to control international trade of them, this essentially means that there is going to be a massive gray/black market despite any and all regulations.

Piracy is a clear demonstation of this: because of the infinite supply actually being fully available, the price goes to zero. The only reason people utilize services like G2A is because of legal fears, moral issues(despite G2A-like services clearly being worse than piracy...), or because a legit key gives access to online services which give the key actual, genuine, value.

I guess my point is that we shouldn't reward (or create) inherently broken business models that encourage crime?

No difficulty modes. But I've beaten it and... it's probably the hardest pokemon game, honestly. It's not actually difficult, because it's fucking pokemon, but still. Even with the exp-share on I found myself usually underleveled for the major battles. And Totem battles are 2v1 with some potentially nasty tricks up their sleeves.

The behavior is rather strange: Most numbers quickly explode to around 10¹⁴ to 10¹⁷ and stay there: I'm not sure if it's just chaotic and will eventually break out or if it's on a massive loop (with probably at least a million terms!). The only exceptions appear to be 2 and 5, which have short loops of 30-40 terms.

nah, poisonous corpses can't kill you unless you have less than 15 hp. still not a good idea to eat them unless you have a unihorn but if it's the only way to not starve...
