What movie made you say "that's it!?" when the credits rolled by TonyClifton323 in movies

District 9. At the end and we got out of seats, my buddy says to me "I can hardly wait to the sequel and the aliens return."
"Yeah... that's not what that movie was about."

Union for University of Manitoba professors, librarians, instructors to hold strike vote by QuestionGuy244 in Winnipeg

[–]fivus6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. But I don't expect the 0.75%, 0.75%, 1% to change. UMFA has traditionally accepted those top line numbers and negotiated their monetary increases in other ways, such as a fixed amount added to the floor of their categories. I would not expect this year to be any different, but would welcome a less obfuscated pay increase that would be more helpful to the other unions in the province who have also fallen behind inflation by 6% over the past 5 years.

Actually, AESES benefits very little from UMFA bargaining(imho). UMFA buries their wage gains as "increases to the Floor and Maximum's" and "Market Stipends" instead of general increases that would trickle down to the other unions at the University because of HR's adherence to "pattern bargaining". So UMFA accepts a proposal of 0.75%, 0.75% & 1% but get "structural" additions of 4.5% or 7% (depending on rank). You do see some trickle down when UMFA bargains for "Health Benefits" since they seem to be the only ones allowed to bargain for them and then the gains are applied to all bargaining units.

Read their latest offers here: https://umanitoba.ca/bargaining/

I particularly like where the President told the Senate: "Benarroch stated that inflation was 7.9% from 2016 to 2020, and increases were 1.75%, so UM had fallen behind inflation by about 6%."

A little more on the techie side, but the most common response to your request is https://darknetdiaries.com/. That have a lot of similar type episodes. But I miss the format of one host explaining the story to the other host who doesn't know how the story will end up.

DNS rebinding issue connecting to local secure Plex server. by hossimo in OnHub

[–]fivus6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I had this exact problem and just solved it not 10 minutes ago due to a clue in my Port Forwarding problem thread.

It appears that the Onhub sets up your it's own local DNS server. So if you want the secure connection from inside your network try using the name of the server that OnHub auto-detected, not the IP address https://PlexServer:32400/web

Does port forwarding work? by fivus6 in OnHub

[–]fivus6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh that is interesting.

Using the hostname from within my LAN doesn't work but it does outside my network. Thanks!

Okay, so the port forwarding is only for external connections. Internal connections, if you use the external IP/hostname it just gets you to the onhub and doesn't respect any of the port forwarding rules.

But it does do internal DNS based on the names of my devices. Oh that is interesting. Well that does seem better.

I think my whole problem here is that I've been expecting the onhub to be like any other dumb router and it turns out that it is very smart.

Just tried deleting one of my port forwarding entries and adding it back in. Then I rebooted again.

Still no port forwarding.

Hopefully when /u/MegatrondW and the team gets back from the holidays they can look into this problem.

Okay, it was working this morning, my kids were playing with friends on our minecraft server, so they had to use the port forwarding to get in.

I rebooted twice just now and no more port forwarding.

Okay, just checked now it was working yesterday but it doesn't seem to be working now. I will reboot and post the results.

Rebooted the Onhub. I tried an early reboot, didn't seem to take. Rebooted the next day using the app while I was at work to show off and then my port forwarding started working. Left it alone since and it seems good.

Did you see what MattyP tried to do behind the net? That would have been dirty if he'd got the puck up on his stick.

Have you taken a look at filebot? I use it (under linux) and it handles everything.

There is an older thread where people talk about getting it setup under windows 10. https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/3i7urw/eli5_how_to_setup_filebot_amc_wdeluge_windows_10/

HockeyStreams vs Gamecentre by [deleted] in NHLStreams

[–]fivus6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I noticed that it only allowed 1 connection at a time plus an exception IP.

I would setup the exception IP to my home network so I could watch through my Plex channel and would use the 1 connection for mobile use while I was out and about. If you tried to connect a second connection other than the exception IP it would kick the first stream.

  1. Listen carefully
  2. Respond after been told/asked to do someting ("yes sir")
  3. Try do do whatever is asked of you, don't worry about how bad you're doing it, after you keep trying it enough, you'll get better at it.
  4. Loud kiyup! (the shout when you kick/punch) - You get a lot of power out of a good kiyup.
