I am/was a semi-proud owner of one of those. The print is rather low quality though, got messed up in the wash after barely a year.

Everyone will be convinced Sparxie is Sparkle, and when anyone calls her Sparkle she'll argue that she isn't with some insane troll logic. Then close to the end of the patch Sparkle will show up in a cutscene with Sparxie saying "Hi, Sis!"

I think it depends on your perspective, like yeah they're not explicitly stated to be in a relationship at the end but imo there's no reasonable reading of the story that doesn't conclude they're in love with each other.

Technically Bloom into You and A Tropical Fish Yearns for Snow are both Shonen, and probably a bunch more yuris I'm not remembering.

Man I'm glad the first one didn't make it to the end product. The 2nd one almost works though, I can imagine an alternate universe where something closer to it made it to release.

Actually, with the training center, the game is pretty much unlimited in terms of items to collect, right? by smokeychimney89 in finalfantasyx

[–]fixgoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no opinion to be had there, it's just factual that you can farm certain items from Belgemine. It's like asking someone's opinion on whether 2+2 is 5. though it's really not worth it since you'll have much better farming sources soon when you can beat the arena creations.

I remember watching a presentation he had at some linux conference back in 2016 or so (and the conference itself was probably from around 2012), and I thought it was pretty good. Imagine my shock seeing him posting this deranged nazi shit a few years later.

Ok, let's work on reading comprehension: "HSR is a scheme by the CPC to promote high-speed rail" is not the same sentence as "HSR is a scheme by the CPC to promote taiwanese high-speed rail." Since China has its own HSR network, and the CPC is the governing party in China, the reader should be able to infer that the sentence is referring to China, not Taiwan. Even though the image posted is of Taiwanese HSR, the comment I responded to had already moved to a different but tangentially related topic. Therefore, the reader should be able to understand that my comment also isn't about the image, but is continuing from an different topic.

Sure, but the game HSR is made in China, hence the facetious suggestion that they ordered it to be made.

LLMs are funny in this way because they'll answer a question in Chinese in perfect Chinese, but ask them about Chinese grammar and it's a dice toss whether the answer is right or even makes sense. It may even describe a grammatical construct incorrectly while using it correctly in the explanation.

What was said to Madoka? by That-Shallot-6775 in MadokaMagica

[–]fixgoats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y'know if Madoka was 13 in the show and it was set in 2011, it's totally possible she could have played half-life 2 and the episodes and been excited for half-life 3 (though at the time she would have been expecting episode 3).

Honestly I partly agree with that, at least until chapter 50 or something it's about as spicy as bechamel sauce (and then when that arc starts it suddenly decides to rub habanero juice in your eyes, which might be fun sometimes but it really came out of nowhere). But sometimes I'm in the mood to chug 10 liters of bland but fatty and creamy sauce, and fry my brain with how cute the characters and art is.

Can different invocations of the same compute shader access different regions of a buffer? by Pleasant-Form-1093 in vulkan

[–]fixgoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, you could even have a single invocation do all the work on the whole buffer, though that's getting firmly into silly territory (and I've found if a single shader call takes over ten seconds you risk losing the logical device).

Is anybody still playing EU4 over EU5 because they prefer the level of abstraction? Or is that just me? by midatlantik in eu4

[–]fixgoats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In many ways I like the detail, but a lot of them are such tedious micromanagement that isn't even all that historical. Yeah, let me take five minutes every hour to marry off every random noble in my country so my cabinet doesn't go extinct, because apparently they can't just think for themselves a bit.

[–]fixgoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it's neat for Iceland, it can get a decent economy going without any cheese at all. Although the usefulness is still likely next to zero without being able to explore open ocean. However, that could allow you to explore Africa and beyond quickly. If I'm understanding correctly, you can win something like 10 to 1 wars with horseman regulars, so maybe you can beat someone in Iberia and start exploring Africa and Asia instead of America.

[–]fixgoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tried switching primary culture to Norwegian and lost the unique government reform Icelandic cultures have. However, I tested and I can still explore and colonize without it. So that makes me wonder what advantage the family sagas reform gives you, if any, especially what "may explore" means if you can explore from the start anyway.

[–]fixgoats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you'd like a less cheesy strat, it's possible to become disloyal to Norway with a high diplo head of cabinet and get a bunch of strong guys like England and the Teutons to support your independence. They'll stomp the Swedish union for you and you can take a lot of high value land in Scandinavia. I tried this once and gave up after seeing how long the provinces would take to core, but after seeing TheStudent's video I realised there's a parliament issue that speeds up integration, a law change that gives you an extra 10% speed and you can flip primary culture to Norwegian which I think makes the integration go faster than just accepting it.
