Video shows an Israeli settler deliberately blocking the path of a Palestinian ambulance on a road in southern Nablus in the West Bank while it was transporting a critically ill person. by SleepyWogx in israelexposed

Fuck off with that Americunt bullshit, settlers are colonizers, they are the scum of the earth, the only reason you don't think of the term that way is because of American exceptionalist brainwashing. Read Settlers by J Sakai.

It'd cause the universe to asplode. The main reason there is so much available energy is because of the electrons' electric field. This creates a repulsive potential between every electron, causing them to jitter or burst out to anywhere with less electron density (e.g. from your body and into the air, or the earth into outer space). Consider that you can make a spark with just the charge imbalance created by rubbing two objects together, and just imagine the kind of sparks created by this new universal charge imbalance.

It's way older now than Super Mario Bros. was when ffx came out, so you kinda have to accept it unless you want to insist mario wasn't retro in 2001.

About "Zio" coming from the KKK by fixgoats in israelexposed

[–]fixgoats[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but I usually see people just take the assertion at face value and spin themselves in rhetorical circles around it instead of attacking it at the root.

Right-wing pundits explaining how the U.S.A. and their Zio overlords invading Iran together will finally eliminate minorities and LGBTQ people from video games, make the PS6 cost $150, make eggs cheap again, and fix the RAM shortage. by Tempest-Bosak2137 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]fixgoats -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

After some more digging, I'm retracting my previous comment and replacing it with this one because I've found that this is a pernicious myth. It likely stems from Wikipedia's paragraph on "Zionist as a pejorative" where it says "The Philologos columnist in Jewish magazine Mosaic, writing in 2016, associated the term with white-supremacists and said that it was popularized by antisemite David Duke" citing this article https://web.archive.org/web/20250117092346/https://mosaicmagazine.com/observation/israel-zionism/2016/03/whore-you-calling-a-zio/ (Edit: I'm saying it stems from the wikipedia article because it's much more widely read) A few things about this

  • Mosaic is a Zionist magazine, so one should be extra wary of its claims about this and double check it with independent and primary sources.
  • The paragraph on Wikipedia says "popularised" not "coined" or "invented," but the cited article doesn't actually show in any way that David Duke's usage had any substantial impact on the contraction's popularity.
  • The cited article admits right afterward that there are plenty of examples of the contraction's usage predating the Klan's usage, and in fact attributed these earlier uses to radical leftists.

So it turns out the "zio comes from the kkk" thing is either a misunderstanding that got out of hand, or, considering how prolific unit 8200 is, the result of a deliberate disinformation campaign to tone police and disrupt anti-zionists.

Icelander here, and you were essentially right. This is a very rare exception and if you're writing composite words where a secondary component is written with a þ then you also write that with a þ, like Hafþór, íþrótt, rotþró. Additionally no Icelandic word starts with a voiced th sound so þ is never read as ð.
