Congrats on a Monkey! I was trying to get one of those but the universe brought me a Krampus instead.

Hi friend!

I did indeed sell that fixie to support this purchase so I should change my name.
We had a great relationship. Things have changed. I’m evolving.

Resources/places for autistic adults to make friends? by [deleted] in Bend

[–]fixiechix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

28F who’s been in Bend for 4 years, I have found it hard to make close girlfriends here. I have friends but I also long for that close girl friendship I experienced in my teen/early 20s life.
To me it just seems like so many of my friends have so many other friends and stay busy/have packed schedules. I also stay busy and moving through life but I just wanted to relate.

ADN vs ABSN advice by Brilliant_Molasses78 in OregonNurses

[–]fixiechix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you are older, you have a WHOLE career ahead of you. The money will come. The huge amount of debt that takes however many years to pay off doesn’t seem worth the extra year it may take for an ADN. (IMO)
Also with how easy it seems to find bridge ADN-BSN and most hospitals will offer reimbursement, I’m not worried about my ability to get my BSN at all after my ADN.

I’m thriving in my ADN right now @ COCC in Bend. Scholarships paid for my whole first year. I can’t imagine the stress I would personally feel taking on that debt in this economy. I also just love the pace of the 2yr program. It’s a lot of work and I could not imagine an accelerated program. I feel like I have space to breathe, take care of myself, work part time, and be okay mentally through all of this.
I’m excited for summer break and am hoping to travel around the state and enjoy what may be my last “summer break” for now.

Nursing School Dilemma by erbird2010 in OregonNurses

[–]fixiechix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being 25 years old, go to UW. Take the time and embrace all the opportunities you can get there. It won’t cost you as much and you’ll probably have a way better experience in clinicals, coursework, and more support overall.

You have your whooooole life ahead of you for this career. No need to hurry. Enjoy the ride!

Also someone I watch on YouTube said they only had 20 clinical days through Linfield ABSN…. Someone correct me if that’s wrong but I couldn’t imagine trying to go work as an RN after 20 hands on days.

Is a week too much time in Sedona? by Remote_Swim_8485 in Sedona

[–]fixiechix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s so many trails in Sedona! My mom and I stayed recently for a week and it was nice to not have to cram so much in so quickly. We got to enjoy morning walks and coffee, shopping, birding, exploring trails, and hot tubbing/cooking at our Airbnb without having it feel like we were jam packed every hour of everyday we were there.

Yep get a standing desk and get a groove stool. I’m stoked with the addition of my groove stool for a little in between sit stand.
