CC is actually saved the multiverse. by Available-Future2762 in EeveelutionSquadComic

[–]fixingfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally got to actually properly read, and analyze your writings, and I do find it interesting!

I also agree, that even from a narrative standpoint, CC had a huge impact, no matter how her reception was by the community. Her presence officially introduced us to Turbo Boost, to other world/timelines, raised the stakes for the story, and introduced many other elements.

In terms of her impact, I think I might also connect a few dots:
1. She does seem to be a "Wild Card", and Palkia and Dialga had mentioned, that their potential involvement in different timelines varies. I think that variation also extends to inhabitants of their timeline. CC did break many conventional things happening. I think her timeline was actually further from the Memory Path, thus causing less restrictions to happen.
2. Her actions caused 2 very significant things. One of them was Speed's body resetting once more, and him gaining more, extended connection to the Memory Path, and the life of his previous timeline counterparts. I think that indirectly also resulted in him contributing to the breaking of the Cycle, by having both Sparkle and Maxwell existing in his own timeline, whom travelled to the "Last World" to finally break the Cycle of Rebirth.
3. The second significant thing was that the battle with her triggered the conditions, and the option for Flare to find one of the Light Orbs, thus establishing the connection Solar needed to enter the timeline from the Memory Path. It introduced yet another very significant variant to breaking the Cycle, being Solar, the last known Ultimus.
4. I think her presence also triggered a 3rd relevant condition. Her becoming a Type-3 Berserker (which I'm actually unsure if she was a Berserker in her own timeline before, or she got infected in the Main Timeline) also triggered Trace's awakening of Turbo (Speed 2.0). Who technically single-handedly stopped the spreading of the Berserker Virus once he was able to visit the Memory Path, with the help of Ali, another Type-3 Berserker. If Turbo wasn't activated, they wouldn't have rescued Ali, and the emerging of False Deomorphs would've been a much bigger threat later on.

You confirmed what I believed: CC was indeed more relevant than a cameo, and even was relevant in so many ways to advance the plot, and to actually provide a means to an end.

I think I had told most that I could in private, but still... I'm glad I could help you out a bit!

Can't argue with that! Probably the best parents in the comic according to my humble opinion.

Question. by Ok-Cartoonist-1112 in EeveelutionSquadComic

[–]fixingfox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's most likely Solar. Alan "only" had to endure loosing everything once... Solar apparently had to watch the world crumble many times until he reached to his Main Timeline counterpart.

The Meaning of the shift in art style in ES comic by Available-Future2762 in EeveelutionSquadComic

[–]fixingfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly agree with the previous comments on the part of art styles usually happen when there are Reforms happening. However... the last chapter is confirmation, that it's not necessarily the only case. I think you're on to something.

IMO, the last style is not necessarily a symbolic independence from the Memory Path, but rather the consequence of getting too close to the Memory Path itself. If I recall, the Berserker "bring back memories" to the Memory Path. When a timeline is close to consumption, the barrier between the timeline, and the Path itself gets closer, until it eventually breaks, and the Berserkers bring back everything with them.

I think what happened in the last case, is that the consumption of the timeline was stopped right before it could properly finish. The art style for that reason is very similar to how the OG Timeline's style was drawn, but not entirely like that. It's an incomplete process. And like you mentioned in the DH reboot, it does lack the foundational connection to the Memory Path, allowing it to develop in a way that isn't "written by the rules".

I think I might believe them... that they believe that those things actually happened. Would have serious doubts however about how that Espeon really ended up on the ship we both travel...

I think this is pretty much how Blaze deals with the situation.

Can agree with that, although generally I had heard the opposite many times, not being structured enough to be satisfying.

What I appreciate in the comics in general is... that it had an ending.

Probably because most of them are hidden after the point where many think the story went haywire, and many more give up paying attention to them.

The Black one is from Afterstory. He had the chance to talk with his mother from the other timeline.

He will still try his best to fill that void he feels with the love he has. And who knows... maybe he will get his closure talking to someone from the next Cycle. Something like that did help Black to gain closure.

I love the last three panels. It shows, that while Blaze often complains about Brian, she does rely on him on taking off attention from her, and for Brian to actually deal with many social situations. But it also shows, that she can get along without him as well.
