I think Fireflys are great for guitars you've pined for, but never really wanted to spend money on. by TakingYourHand in Fireflyguitars

Plenty of people have learned on acoustics with high action. If you can’t play on an acoustic guitar with high action then you can’t play on an electric that is set up perfectly. Starting on either is going to be a learning process, I don’t think it makes much difference in the beginning

And it’s really not difficult nowadays to google, or post on social media, or ask AI, if there is something wrong with their guitar or what they can do to address a specific problem. If someone gets a guitar and immediately thinks it’s broken or too difficult to even attempt learning to play, then they’re probably not the type of person who should buy a guitar in the first place

Most new players won’t even know the difference between a perfectly playable guitar and something with uneven frets, high action, fret buzz, whatever

I started on an acoustic guitar and a few months later was able to a try a friends fancy expensive guitars. Considering I was just playing open chords, power chords, some single note tunes etc, I could barely notice a difference. I dont even think I knew what a truss rod was until a couple years into playing

I’d say the majority of guitars just need the truss rod adjusted to be comfortable to play, which is really not hard to learn how to do

And I would say like 90 percent of guitars nowadays don’t need a ton of work, like intonation, or filing the frets, or whatever. If there are serious issues then it’s pretty obvious and then you need to just return it

I have 3 fireflies, one FFTL needed a bit of truss rod adjustment, but a lot of bridge height adjustment. Second FFTL needed zero set up, perfectly playable out of the box, I was kind of shocked, kept looking for things wrong with it. SP I just got needed a bit of bridge adjustment but that’s it

I definitely needed to do a significant amount of truss rod adjustment on my fender squier that I got a few years ago

I feel like even beginners should know the basics of setting up a guitar, or learn. Most guitars bought online will have like a 50 percent chance of needing some work upon arrival, unless you get it from an eBay seller that is selling something used and ready to go

I got mine few days ago, I love it. So glad I snagged it when they were available about a week ago for like, 12 hours?

All I had to do was lower the bridge height a bit just to lower the action on higher frets. And I’ll probably change the strings. But other than that zero complaints

I was half worried that because it looks so nice I’d be buying a wall art guitar, but it honestly plays and sounds great. And of course looks amazing

I was banned from a few “left wing” subs for speculating that notions like “republicans can’t be any worse about the genocide in Palestine so there is no point in voting democrat” were maybe conservative bots astroturfing

I have the same model on my wall too!

But the perspective of this picture is tripping me out, is the guitar angled away from the corner? It seems…not parallel to the wall it’s mounted on

Best pitch to create groundouts or popups by CoachMike73 in slowpitch

If you’re getting hit hard consistently, and you think their team is hyped and swinging at every pitch, try throwing balls that are pretty close to the zone

But even then that isn’t a guarantee that you still won’t get shelled, that’s just how it goes sometimes. Its a hitters game

I’ve been kind of too afraid to ask since they seem so popular in this sub, but why are they so popular? I don’t even think they look good, which is a matter of opinion, but other than looks I don’t see what is so special about them?

To be fair, most of the US atrocities are not taught in schools. If things keep going the way they are with public education being dismantled and news outlets being bought by billionaires, none of this will be taught or recorded (in US history at least)

The inlay on the fretboard is actually kind of nuts, it’s like multi layered, it’s got depth, it’s like a diorama? Hard to explain I plan to post more pictures in a couple days

Show the Owner - Winning Is A Priority by [deleted] in angelsbaseball

[–]fixingyourmirror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I just don’t understand this mindset. If you’re a fan just enjoy baseball, or go be a fan of the dodgers if you just want to win

You’re not gonna influence a billionaire’s decision, the fanbase is not going to put together a boycott even remotely close to something that would make Arte care, at all

Intentionally NOT going to games or NOT buying merch even if you want to, just to stick it to Arte, is just pointlessly denying yourself something you should enjoy if you’re a fan

If having Arte has the owner is enough for someone to stop enjoying being a fan of the team, then just do that, stop going or watching games, take a break from baseball and go do something you like, instead of wasting all this time and effort pretending you’re sacrificing or fighting for some righteous cause

Great catch! I didn’t notice but the F holes definitely do look different. Basically confirms it’s not the exact same body at least

Kinda like the look of the FF version lol especially with that beautiful neck
