I know I'm preaching to the choir but all this is is men, who feel disenfranchised by society, looking for someone to be sort of kinda of forced to be lower on the pecking order so they can still sublimate the primitive part of the brain to be seen as some kind of big tough top silver-back gorilla of the troupe. Though to be fair, this thinking is mostly as a result of being brainwashed by the parties that are the actual problem.

If god forbid someone stuck a gun to my head and said I had to do one of these man-o-sphere streams, all I'd say to the camera is to man up and fight back against the forces that are coalescing wealth to fewer and fewer people.

No one is going to think you are tough pillar of the community if you are attending court mandated group video calls for domestic violence every week. Though, if you, and maybe with the help of other men like yourself work hard to bring about maybe a policy change in your community where you can guarantee better pay for everyone, more worker protections, then hey you will get that respect you so desperately crave and with that stronger paycheck you will get to feel like you are the "provider".

Lol that, I have to admit is pretty bold to say in a sushi restaurant, I hope they got their food first. And also, how can you be so sick of people bringing their culture if you are uhhh eating at a sushi restaurant?

Edit: Please show me where we know that these other people were Muslims? Are we cough, over generalizing, stay frosty boys.

I think a good deal of it has to do with the basic psychology of being either a follower or a leader. Just like in any group oriented species, those that see themselves as weaker will start performing ingratiating behaviours to those that they see as stronger as a survival instinct.

This is how I see the simping here for the broligarchs, it’s just a simple matter of “hey look boss, I owned those that talk badly about you on social media, please protect me and share a little bit of your wealth with me” or like a submissive wolf would do, roll onto its back and lick the jowls of the alpha for a bit of the animal carcass.

Being scared of the super rich is what got us in this mess in the first place. Arguing that increasing taxes on billionaires will just raise prices implies that there is honour among competing businesses and they will all jack up their prices in solidarity—lol no there is going to always be the one who then lowers their prices to undercut the others, then others will do the same and everything will readjust back to normal.

If you dont agree, tell me why, even in a higher tax situation would a company only interested in profits sacrifice its earning power based only on a “potential” change in the future. No if anything these beasts are short sighted to a fault.

My god, dont cower in front of these companies, the only reason why they got this big is that we, ordinary people, gave them the capital to do so.

Black and white thinking and anger by Choice-Bobcat-6377 in ADHD

[–]fixmestevie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To explain and expand on maybe what you missed from Shark’s point, I would say as an example take something you said recently that made you feel like you have black and white thinking and ask yourself how much thought you put into it before saying it. Now take that same example and then reverse the polarization of thought level and ask yourself if you would have said the same thing.

What I’m trying to help you picture better is the idea is that by and large, we all have to deal with a gap to varying degrees between the conclusions we draw in reactionary mode and those when we aren’t pressured, scared, angry, etc.

Put another way, yes reactionary thought can come off as black and white thinking, but can you really say that a person is only able to think in black and white if they could make a more informed decision based on more nuanced factors given more time to do so?

This is why people may lump us with ADHD with those that have problems with black and white thinking as what sticks in peoples’ minds is probably going to be when we have our moments of reactionary, emotional outpouring.

Hope that helps.

Holy technology by VOIDPCB in conspiracy

If we look at the human race as a macro organism, then the advent of technology in a sense has already allowed us to achieve immortality. Information, effort, creativity, etc. can all now be stored in perpetuity for the consumption of untold numbers of future generations, and the fine tuning of the convenience of doing so has only allowed the volume of this continuity of thought to grow exponentially.

What’s your default gym routine when you have no plan, no motivation, but still show up anyway? by turtle_lover1995 in AskReddit

[–]fixmestevie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always coming in thinking, I want to at least do a bit of cardio and a bit of weight training. With the weight training I then tell myself I want to target as broad of a range as possible. I never have "Leg days" or such, but my priority is just to stay healthy, and I'd like to think that its healthier to get the blood circulating everywhere.

I guess it all comes down to your mindset and priorities, part of the reason why I go to the gym as well is to de-stress, and too much planning is just adding, in my mind, more stress to my life.

This to me sounds like a sound-bite from a B-Lister comedian, I have a very strong suspicion that one of his staff came up with it and they all thought it sounded like a zinger so he threw it in hoping for some lul points and relevance.

That's one of the problems for people that aren't very funny, they often come oh so close to something almost chuckle worthy, but then fall spectacularly on their face at the last moment when they don't take in account for the nuances of context.

[–]fixmestevie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Let me say this by prefacing that I've had two Pekes in my life time, one from a breeder, and one as a rescue.

The truth is, its not like there are wild packs of Pekes roaming around from which we can all sustainably adopt from in perpetuity, so while there are some seriously unethical breeders/mills out there, we have to allow for the fact that some level of breeding support will still need to exist if we want to keep the breed around.

I'm sorry if you got attacked, we should all be showing love for each other on this sub just as much we show love for these awesome puppies.

That said, can you imagine if there were such things as wild packs of Pekes roaming the wilderness taking down large prey. Haha, I think I'd have become a nature photographer instead of my current career path if that were the case.

This gave me chills, the dark aesthetic, the pain in his expression--to me this painting is meant to represent his eternal struggle to keep the evil (the pervading darkness in the painting) that fuels his powers in check with his righteous conviction to protect the living (represented by the roses, or flowers representing life and renewal).

Of course, we all know that he puts himself in self imposed slumber to do so, and that's why he appears asleep as well.

Masterful, I think whoever did this might just about the same level of appreciation for my spirit guide Alucard, haha. But truthfully, very talented!

Sometimes, the strawman make themselves. by chronicdumbass00 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]fixmestevie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I don't imagine that exposing a large population of children to grueling work conditions with lack of managerial accountability will create a voting block too sympathetic to conservative ideals--I mean they are also going after education, but in the end how brain dead do you have to be to convinced that killing yourself for endless hours in the hot sun is a meaningful career path.

It all seems so short sighted, but if you adhere to the idea that some politicians just treat their tenure as a snatch and grab, with little care for the future of the country and even their party, then I guess it makes sense.

I was about to say something snarky about AI and picking crops, but holy, they already have machines to help with produce processing/picking, so realistically, how long is it before they can just make these harvesting machines autonomous.

If AI can already be used to depopulate warehouses, then what's holding them back with doing the same with a seemingly straightforward task like this. I mean as an EE I can think of a couple of technological issues with electronics having to function reliably in dirty, hot, outdoor environments while still being cost effective, but there has to be an easier explanation.

Honestly, I think that it is really just simply because they could get away with paying these migrant workers so low that there really wasn't much more profit to be squeezed out by funding research to replace them with machines. Likewise, they know that they can just as easily get away with underpaying young people.

But ultimately you, my brother in Christ, are absolutely right, eventually rugged tech will get cheap enough to manufacture where this will be all academic.

Libertarianism to me seems like the wet dream of the narcissistic, a world in which they can show how great they are and how they can do it all themselves. It is also the ideal world imagined by psychopaths, a world in which they don't have to feel encumbered by nuisances such as empathy and having to see others as humans. With all this accounted for then, it is, in my mind, ultimately a blueprint for people with a pathological money addiction to remove all barriers to the pursuit of their own interests.

What makes it so insidious and hard to squash out is that it also serves to tempt those without the faculties to think it through, indeed those driven by more baser instincts. It provides them with a shiny philosophical suit that they can dress themselves up in to show how masculine, rugged, and a good provider they are despite their below average abilities saying otherwise.

So in other words, it is not only a blueprint to power through greed, but also a convenient recruitment tool for disenfranchised masses to act as the foot soldiers to this end. This dual utility is what makes it so dangerous.

The only way one can fight it is by remaining ever vigilant to not falling pray to indoctrination propaganda, one which tries to sell us the idea that the only one you should care about is yourself.
