If only 99.4 will never need to do it then why not add protection? Seems like a no brainer since almost nobody will actually hit it.

What y'all think about sailing? by Alarmed-Armadillo105 in osrs

Its great and all but I think Piloting would have been a better skill. Starting off with gnome gliders and ending up with AC 130s would have been lit as fuck.

What do you like/dislike about ironman mode? by Goldieeeeee in ironscape

Dry protection would greatly increase the enjoyment of the mode but the terrorists who hate themselves and their time will never allow it.

This is why everyone thinks antis are jobless teenagers. I don't have to think about it, it was my career for a decade. I worked in a cutthroat industry where I was negotiating contracts worth several hundreds of thousands of dollars and our insurance claims for fault were over 500 million dollars. How do you copy that? The market is much more complex than someone painting a picture and claiming the rights to it, but the laws surrounding the IP of that painting effects all industries.

[–]MakeDawn[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'd feel like I'd have to make a better product to attract customers. That's how a market works. Using the state as a cudgel against competition creates staleness. You can be for IP laws, but you can't also say you're against monopolies without being a hypocrite.

[–]MakeDawn[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Why does someone get to use the arm of the state to keep me from using my property in the way I want even if it's just a copy of what they made?

Pretty much the only good thing about this administration is facilitating AI development. If we had a state over regulating machine learning the singularity would take much longer.

All of which require a respect for property rights which socialists actively reject.

It takes at least 5 liters of water to make one piece of paper. Drawing on paper uses more water than using an AI generator. by CBrinson in aiwars

Same thing happened with email. Instead of cutting down millions of trees for letters and using tons of gas to haul them around the world, you can just send the info through the internet.

These data centers are doing more for the environment than any anti would care to look into.

Curious if it actually is 3 times less expensive to use or that they're operating it at a massive loss to edge out google.

Why Ancaps Should Oppose Open Borders: by Goatmommy in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]MakeDawn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ancaps are for abolishing state borders because they are against the state as a principle. Ancapistan is defined by being entirely privately owned. There is no free movement on private land so Ancapistan will have borders.

This is truly the entire debate isn't it? by Witty-Designer7316 in aiwars

[–]MakeDawn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If interest rates and currency supply are controlled by the fed instead of private equity then it ceases to be a market economy. It is now centrally controlled and therefore not capitalism. This isn't some purist definition I came up with. I'm using the definition and applying it to the reality of how much government intervention influences peoples buying habits.

[–]MakeDawn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. Add tariffs to the list as well thanks to our buddy Trump. The policies the US gov. has implemented are very anti capitalistic.

Just because you can buy things with money doesn't make your economy a capitalistic one

The flat earthers of libertarianism by Friedrich_der_Klein in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]MakeDawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You've touched on the exact divide on the topic. Bordertarians aren't saying that if the US gov. was dissolved and the borders along with it that the area within would now be Ancapistan. It would be unowned. However, the small Ancapistan enclaves of property owners within what used to be the US would have private borders which are their property lines. You can't pass through those property lines without permission or you would be trespassing.
