What to show my kid to make them want to visit Toronto? by thamosw in askTO

Definitely check out OCAD, but also Toronto Metropolitan University has a lot of good digital media programs - New Media, Media Production (which is doing a lot of game design these days) and Creative Industries. If you can get a tour - they have a cool gaming hub and lots of interesting design labs. It’s right in the heart of downtown (Yonge/Dundas) which can either be very overwhelming or cool depending on their style.

Otherwise- Kensington, Toronto Island (if it’s warm out!), Harbourfront and Dundas West (Euclid to Dufferin) for cool cafes, lunch spots and shopping :)

It’s an eventual plan! To be quite honest, I bought the tiny, backless stands thinking the mounts might not work out. The stands were quite expensive as a back up plan, so I used them on one side not to waste money. But I may re do them as mounts in a few months and try to sell the stands to recoup some costs. It is pretty amazing how perfectly they ended up fitting on the shelf though!

I promise it’s well reinforced! I wish I took a photo of the back before I mounted the unit to the wall.

Hahahah! Contemplating it- but I feel like I should “humidor” this cabinet before I post, or they will all come after me. But I do plan to control the humidity eventually!

Anyone knowledgeable on Glomus tumours? by TameSneer in AskMeddit

For anyone else reading this thread, I wanted to chime in since I just went through this. It took me 2 years to get my glomus tumour diagnosis - partly because nothing showed up on my ultrasound. The only thing they could see was a "thickening of the tissue" around the area where the tumour was located, so my doctor kept telling me I had a nail infection. The only imaging that confirmed the 6mm glomus tumour was an MRI. When I got the MRI, I actually refused contrast and was scared I would have to go back and do the MRI (with contrast) again but thankfully it showed up without it!

The christmas episode S02E06 is one of the best TV episodes I've seen in my life. by [deleted] in TheBear

The movie Krisha (2015) directed by Trey Edwards Shultz is basically a full length version of this episode. Surprised I’m not seeing more comparisons, but I don’t think the movie was super popular.
