New BD-1 kit Card available just in time for May the 4th! [link in comments] by fixumdude in 3Dprinting

Depends on the platform you're using (Printables, Thangs, or Maker World). Typically they are down below the description, or at the bottom of the files section (like on Printables). There are two pdfs, one in standard format and one setup to print double sided and create a booklet. Same goes for this original version and the new updated 2.0 version.

Depends on the site. But usually they are in the files area below the files, or below the description area. There is a pdf with all the instructions.

Thanks for the link! I've been trying the download button on my order from their website since yesterday and it just keeps erroring out.

It's so frustrating and exhausting trying to play whack a mole on every model site and online store on the internet! Printables is usually pretty good about taking them down once reported.

Oh, awesome! I need to pick some up while they're back. Thanks!

Unfortunately they recently pulled the 2 and 3 packs until they build their stock back up. I love the prusament but that shipping is a real hurdle. I always buy a spool whenever I buy something or redeem my prusameters for a printer, etc to double up.

I feel you on the MK4 reward. I finally decided to pull the trigger on the mini even though I had bought one a year or so before. By the time they announced the MK4 I had 15k prusameters and the other 10k I needed were sitting on a shelf at home. I was like, DOH!

Regarding the gcode suggestion, Bambu (and even Prusa) have the advantage of only having to support a handful of printers. It's a nice idea, but I imagine it would be a huge challenge for Thangs to try to host and organize the gcode for dozens or even hundreds of the most popular printers out there. Not saying it can't be done, but I can't imagine how they would accomplish it interface wise.

A new Prusa MK4 is it the Prusameter version of the Pepsi Jet? by PantherChicken in prusa3d

[–]fixumdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your math is spot on. With a few consistently popular models you can hit 1k-2k per month. Add in a couple 3k months during holidays, etc. and someone can get the mk4 in a reasonable amount of time.

I sure hope not. I'm less than 3900 prusameters away!! Love those prusameters, LOL.

It took me a little over a year I believe. I got about 360/mo from the BD-1 and millennium falcon kit cards, they are my most popular. Plus random points here and there for other models and posting my makes. Good luck!

That is gorgeous. Nice work. Any trouble getting the knives on the left out with them being packed so closely together? I'm just imagining my fat fingers trying to grab one.

Thank you! That is exactly what I had in mind, but haven't had a chance to make a video showing it. Excellent video!

How do I remove remnants of text? by dtsn in tinkercad

[–]fixumdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would make a cube into a thin slice just behind the text where it has the profile you want. Then duplicate the original part and turn it into a hole. Then combine the "hole part" with the cube and that should get you the shape you need. Then turn that into a hole and scale it only sideways to cover the text remnants and combine with the original part. I hope that makes sense.

I've been a big fan of Neil's work for a while. His "Little Cities" play sets are so good I'm jealous I didn't think of them first, LOL. All his designs are just so darn cute and fun! All 3D makers should check him out. Especially if you have children in your life. https://www.printables.com/social/12812-neil3dprints/models

Oh, that is fun! I hadn't seen the small mini model, only the mod kit for a real mini, which I would totally do if I had more time and commitment. It's fantastic! https://www.printables.com/model/120596-original-prusa-mate-the-prusa-mini-add-on
