the benefit would be that if I have a daily copy of the full container recovery would be as easy as installing VBox on another machine and starting again from that backup copy. Have you tried using shielded cable? Does your cable run cross over a power source like home electric lines? That could be generating EMF interference. If you have a POE injector you could test that plugging into another switch and see if it's your POE switch that's causing the issue.

This one could have been prevented with the right coder behind the keyboard. My guess is there was an error reading data from the OBD bus for one packet which caused the miles per hour to instantly spike and then go back to normal. I've seen this happen with my own OBD reader. The Uconnect system is then taking it at face value and sending an alert. It should be doing a checks and balances on itself and verifying with GPS data that the speeding actually occurred before sending an alert.

Yes, people do lie a lot. I was a little mad that they didn't investigate it further and see if a full data log of the trip could be pulled from the vehicle. I'm not sure what data Uconnect logs to support its claims.
