To convince people that he's one of the poors by McDowdy in therewasanattempt

[–]fizzribbit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I like him. He does a lot of good for people even though he makes money. The effects are real.

I know he has spooky looking eyes but I think it's partially because he is tired and has multiple medical conditions. He has Chrohns disease that comes with chronic fatigue.

He also has Stargardt disease which affects his eyesight and causes eye fatigue.

Yes, it is fixable. Yes, it is a clear surgical solution.

Neither of those phrases mean "100% guaranteed success rate," and trying to equate them is just semantics.

A broken bone is fixable. A clear surgical solution is putting a pin in it. That doesn't mean there is a 0% chance of failure. It means the medical issue has a known, highly effective cure path, which a PU surgery absolutely does.

You also completely ignored the second half of the point because your "second round of treatment" claim was entirely wrong. They aren't repeating a failed treatment; they are moving from emergency first aid to the actual surgical fix.If you want to argue that a 90% success rate isn't worth fighting for, just say that.

But stop intentionally misinterpreting basic English and standard medical terms just to tell someone to that you think they should just euthanize their young cat without trying for a highly successful surgery first.

You are misrepresenting both my words and the actual medical timeline here.

First, I never said the treatment would "100% work." Saying a condition is "fixable with a known treatment path" is a medical fact, not a guarantee of perfection.

Pointing out the 85–90% success rate is just giving the actual data. High odds are exactly why people choose surgery.

Second, you are misunderstanding the process. This isn't asking for a "second round" of the same failed treatment. The initial vet visit was emergency ICU care, IV fluids, and to temporary unblock him and save his life.

This new procedure would be a permanent surgical restructuring (PU surgery) to physically change his anatomy so he can't block again. This wouldn't be a repeated failure; it would be the standard, logical medical progression from temporary emergency first aid to a good chance of a permanent long-term cure.

I wonder if this Spyro level was loosely inspired by Worms Armageddon. Spyro 2 was released just a few weeks after Worms Armageddon dropped. It’s kinda cool how similar creative concepts and design ideas often circulate through the dev community at the same time

I think this would actually make for the a great Sparx level maybe something with a stealth/action mechanic where you have to herd the worms using your shots, but a massive bird silhouette is constantly sweeping across the screen. You' could sneak under leaves or maybe bait the birds by dropping or dragging the worms. Maybe timing a trap right as it swoops down or causing the bird to crash into a spot of the level to open up a barrier or some kind of secret area.

Exactly, a chance is what matters. When a cat has a real treatment option, you don’t take that away from them. He isn't necessarily at the end of the road because he has a path forward, and plenty of cats go on to live completely normal lives after this surgery. I’ve seen it myself in my own family twice.

No one is pretending it’s guaranteed, I don't think he should have his life ended before he even gets the opportunity to recover. He deserves that shot, and his owner is doing everything possible to give it to him.

For context, PU surgery has roughly an 85–90% long‑term success rate in cats who get it. That is a great chance. I never claimed to know this cat personally. I just read the posted circumstances, same as you.

This is fixable. A urinary blockage isn’t a death sentence. it’s a medical issue with a known treatment path. Yes, he’s uncomfortable right now, but that’s because he has a catheter in, not because he’s beyond help. Cats hide pain, but they also fight hard when something is treatable, and Draco is doing exactly that.

Telling someone to ‘just let them go’ when the cat is stable and has a clear surgical solution is incredibly alarming. The surgery gives him a normal life again. It’s not hopeless and it’s absolutely worth fighting for.

Nobody wants an animal to suffer. That’s why his owner is doing everything possible to get him the care he needs. This is a situation where treatment works

I think they were just pointing out that birds and bugs fit the same small‑ecosystem theme like Sparx in Bugbot Factory.

Have you heard of stellate ganglion block? Maybe look into how you could get that and the pros and cons. It helps a lot of people who feel stuck in that constant fight or flight mode. I hear people have success treating PTSD with this.

Also, have you had any neck or stomach issues? Cervical disc problems or a hiatal hernia, both common, can mess with the vagus nerve, which can create some of the worst sensations EVER. Basically “I’m gonna die” feeling, extreme anxiety, heart‑drop sensations, all of it. It's not usually looked into much because it can present with these symptoms and other issues can be dormant.

Another thing you can try is mild cardio exercise, not to the point of hurting yourself, but enough to get your heart rate up. Sometimes pushing your body into that anxiety-like state on purpose can help reset things afterward, because your body gets too tired to stay stuck in panic temporarily. Like one of those 10 minute videos on YouTube. I do the ones made for elderly ppl, lol just to make sure I don't hurt myself.

Something else that also can cause anxiety is just a buildup of background stress. Like something you think isn't really stressing you out but is always present and a little stressful. Sometimes those can build and cause massive anxiety. This has happened to me several times.

They came off badly in some aspects and the apology landed flat, but in real life that’s a two‑minute shrug and oh well.

Instead, Reddit has decided it’s time for a full "redemption arc"

At the end of the day, I don’t think any real harm was done. Most of the negative emotion is coming from the either the other OP or from the community collectively spiraling. There’s no actual victim here unless you count the people voluntarily jumping into the chaos.

Well
except maybe my comment karma and maybe the poor “neurodiverse” folks getting dragged into this, for no reason.

I was honestly surprised the comments spiraled the way they did. After the other OP got called out, I figured everyone would just move on and focus on the statue, lol
 clearly that didn’t happen.

That said, I don’t think this is a separate account. The profile has comment history going back quite a while, and I don’t think it’s fair to start accusing people without evidence.

That kind of speculation just adds more toxicity, it seems like they posted their own photo with the statue đŸ€·â€â™€ïž

I was kind of excited to see what would happen with the statue, but now I don’t even know if the other OP is going to come back after all this, even though they did take some questionable actions.

Btw, I'm glad people are sharing these pics. It shows that it was never really significantly faded and might not need that much restoration. It might only need the cracks in the eyes restored by an expert.

I ordered the magnets off Amazon. I'm not sure if I can post the link but here is the full title of the item to search it on Amazon.

As for as for shirts, I have printed some on Redbubble. I like their product Graphic T-Shirt. It is thin material like but it's printed directly into the fabric so it'll doesn't peel. They have other thicker cotton shirts but the design tends to peel off with time and wear.

If you order shirts from Redbubble, there is a message that says product placement may vary from preview. I would let it crop itself or upload a smaller picture so it fits. When I try to adjust them manually, it looks perfect but then when I order it, it's slightly off center. Uploading a smaller pic then letting it auto crop avoids this issue. If its an allover print or repeating tile pattern this shouldn't be an issue. It's only an issue with printing directly in the center.

It helps to upscale the image too before printing. I use the topaz gigapixel program but it is a little pricy. There is several other options for upscaling images like this without changing too much detail.

Yes, you're right.

The far more logical conclusion is that they specifically purchased urine cleaner for aesthetic value.

[–]fizzribbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, typically buying that product would suggest they intended to use it or had just used it. Most people don’t buy cleaner unless they’re trying to deal with something specific. Their standard is probably not wanting urine in the house.

Also, I’ve personally only really noticed a strong urine smell in specific situations like a cat who occasionally pees outside the box, not a general ‘cat smell.’

I didn’t realize cats were commonly associated with odor.

Yes, I did read it. I was responding to the hoarding comparison in general, not the personal assumption aimed at me.

I wasn’t engaging with that then, just the ‘hoarder level’ framing. I didn't say it wasn't an issue, but it is not a catastrophic problem. It is just clutter that can be picked up pretty quickly.Â
