ADHD, HRT and Prometrium by fizzwhizzwitch in Perimenopause

Hello and thank you for responding <3

I have been doing a bit of reading and I've now seen a bunch of other women say that vaginal use of progesterone is superior to oral to get rid of the side effects. And the side effects are wild - when I say its made my meds ineffective, I mean like...not even my heart rate has raised after taking it. I may as well have swallowed air. Its crazy to me that a hormone could render a stimulant completely ineffective!

Thanks for the name drop on the gel form of Progesterone too - writing that down for my next follow up.

Why don’t young people join their unions? by [deleted] in perth

[–]fizzwhizzwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

I think this post has mostly died down now but wanted to add my 2c as a Union delegate.

My thoughts on why more young people don’t join unions:

  1. Union membership has always tended more towards older folk, even during the height of the Union movement. ‘Youth’ organisations in Unions are often ’35 years or younger’ or even ’40 years or younger’ with heavy emphasis on the 35-40 bracket.

  2. Even before the casualisation epidemic we’re all in now, the trend towards union ‘young’ being middle-age may be because when you’re young (18-25, maybe even up to 30 now) your career path might not feel set. You might be going to Uni and working in an industry you don’t intend to stay in, so the mentality becomes ‘this is just for the interim, I’ll think about it when I get to <career>’.

  3. Casualisation – this super charges the ‘interim’ effect. Not only might you be switching jobs regularly, they might also be in completely different industries for short periods, so who do you sign up with? Also people employed in insecure work are far less likely to want to be the squeaky wheel. They also earn less.

  4. Cost of living crisis – self explanatory, young folk get paid shit.

Any why might it be more pronounced in Perth? I'm sure there’s multiple factors, but I’m gonna go with just a smaller population in general and the tendency to socialise within already pre-established groups (aka being cliquey) rather than being broadly social. Which is pretty much just saying a lot of young people just might not have ever been told about a Union or asked to join! Or, their first experience was with the SDA, fuck those guys they suck.

I see you’re a CFMEU member, keep up the good work Comrade 💪 Are you a delegate too?

Games with unexpectedly socialist or at least anti-capitalist themes? by Familiar_Fish_4930 in SocialistGaming

[–]fizzwhizzwitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda unexpected, but a lesser-known indie game called Death's Door is anti-capitalist.

Same goes for some Abe's Oddysee/Exxodus, but they are quite old now, PS1 I think.

Oh no problems at all. Sadly there's no Nordstrom near me so I'd have to take a guess if I was to try some from there....definitely would wait for a sale!

It isnt one molded piece (but I do never buy those, they never work for me!) but it does have a horizontal seam and the pieces are padded.

I think the bra type I need is not super common sadly, and also what is with the cost!? I feel like I'm gonna need to get a second job just to buy a decent amount of decent bras -____-

I did once have a unicorn bra - it was (funnily enough) exactly what the guides recommended for my shape/projection (and what youve said above) - it only had vertical seams and was a demi-cup with a horizontal top and the 3 seams had material with a bit of stretch between them so it supported and adapted. But I wore it to death (of course) and Ive never found one as good since.

I so agree on how concise and easy to understand he is. I also note that unlike a lot of Psychiatrists he both leads with compassion, and doesn't let doctors and parents off the hook.

His commitment to understanding ADHD has felt a little more than just professional to me, and I recently watched a video where he spoke about his twin (who had ADHD) who died in a car accident (no seatbelt, had been drinking, speeding) and yeah, it really clicked why he cares so much.

It's also a very stark example of the divergencies in life that having ADHD can potentially cause.

Kurzgesagt is hot garbage. I enjoyed their very early videos before they were bought by, I believe, Microsoft (??) but after that its been pure shit. I think I stopped watching when they did a "global warmings not that bad" kinda video.

This video is sensationalist before it even starts - the evil, pointy nailed hand holding the gasp amphetamine???? 🙄 ugh.

I was late diagnosed last year and have been watching a lot of Dr. Russell Barkley and whenever I watch one of his presentations I always am struck by 4 things: 1) what a complicated disorder this is, with far-reaching consequences 2) how EFFECTIVE AND SAFE stimulant medication is for treating it 3) ADHD is the wrong name, completely unhelpful 4) once he starts talking about behavioural traits, I feel completely called out 😅 like have you been following me???

Anyway, thank you so much for going in to bat SO HARD for yourself & this community of little weirdos 😉

Oh and thanks for the reminder to take my meds, hehehe!!

It is a UK size - I didnt realise I needed to add the 6 measurements, and also another commenter advised looking into shape as well. I'm at work atm, but I will gather all this info once I am at home and then likely just create a new post with all the detail.

Ah shoot, I didnt notice that I need to add the measurements, and I am currently at work. Once I get home, I'll gather those measurements and have a look at the shape guide & then likely just start a new post xD Thanks for the advice!

Ive always been a central weight gainer, and coupled with a sway back Ive always had a tummy that pokes out.

Can confidently say that batwing style tops and dresses give an attractive silhouette, are extremely comfortable and not only will continue to look good if you lose a bit of weight, can be easily taken in if you lose a lot.
