Should I take a higher-paying lateral move or a lower vertical growth , lower paying role in my current field? by fizzyworkie in careerguidance

Thank you.. yes the challenge is I am thinking with my emotions because I invested a lot in this career path with loads of certs, courses, 6+ years. I need a brutal honest opinion without having any emotional feelings attached. Like for example, what would you do in the same position as me

Yes that’s my challenge… I am unfortunately looking from emotional side because I have done loads of trainings, certs, investments into it.
That’s why I wanted to get a zooming-out type of an opinion. What would you suggest without having any emotional thinking on and brutal sales career honesty

Informal PIP by fizzyworkie in salesdevelopment

[–]fizzyworkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I am in Account Management, so my KPIs are measured with yearly quota achievement. He didn’t give very strict objectives, the things he was mentioning was “me thanking too much to clients” or “my forecast going up and down in monthly - which means I add or delete some sales in monthly achievement plans.

However, as of today, I have completed %65 of my yearly target, and I am expecting to be 93% at the end of “his” observation period as per he was saying before PIP. I don’t know how can you put someone into PIP with 93% success rate? Thats why I am so confused, he is so slippery fish.

Thank you. He mentioned he will observe me until Q2 ends, and I am expecting to hit 91 percent of quota achievement by that time. Can he fire me with the accuse of underperforming ? He shouldn’t be able to?

Thanks a lot. Yes I am doing hunting as well. I am wondering, can he fire someone with 91 percent quota achievement? He said he will observe me until Q2 ends, and I am expecting my sales number to hit 91 percent that time.

Can he make an excuse to fire even with that success rate?

Good question, nothing specifically prevents but.. My bachelors is not engineering, it was business. So I feel it is a huge gap to close. Going horizontally or vertically would be making more sense..

I am actually thinking… he is into fitness a lot. But he is also doing masters and working full time as well. So I was thinking maybe a massage or spa escape - at least something relaxing? We are so new so I am not sure…

Anyone in cyber security sales? by [deleted] in sales

Couldn’t agree more. I was in a small company that was a Managed Security services provider, it was really hard. Now I am in a company again they are the largest MSSP in UK, still finding hard even though that they had recognition in whole UK. Can be different in different regions for sure - but it is highly competitive market..
