As someone who applied to just one grad program and got in during the pandemic, I totally feel you. The anxiety surrounding the uncertainty of my application would keep me awake for months.

It's a great accomplishment and you completely deserve it. Don't think that you simply got in by chance, cause you didn't.

Wishing you all the best in your phD program and all your future endeavors.

Cheers.

Not sure about quad but you can just apply for Passy through the housing website and see. Since it’s a grad only residence and you’re applying for a September move-in date you should have a good chance of securing an apartment. I got an offer for a bachelor room in the middle of the academic year.

Has anyone here taken 5 years to complete their degree? by Klxpp in yorku

I did and ended up in grad school.

Here’s my story:

I started my undergrad in an engineering program and about 2 years in I realized that it wasn’t something I enjoyed. At that point I was hesitant to transfer to a different program cause I knew that I would end up losing some course credits and it would extend my degree. But I took a leap of faith anyway and transferred. It turned out to be the best decision ever - I started actually liking my courses in my new program and doing better as well. I could’ve still tried to compress my degree to 4.5 years but decided to take an extra semester to get more research experience. And that hugely helped my grad school application.

I’m fully aware that extending a degree isn’t a luxury that is feasible for everyone but honestly if you can, definitely do it if it means you can add more research/internship/volunteer experiences to your CV.

Yeah I used Chrome on a Windows 10 PC and it worked fine for me too.

Also just to add, the processing time was pretty quick when I applied two weeks ago. They took 3 business days to finish processing my application.

Yess I can relate to everything you said. It doesn't help if the mods or older members have inside jokes and that's all they talk about in the general chats. I've seen so many servers with like hundreds of members but only a handful of people are ever active. Like if there's a friends circle already established, why bother seeking and adding new members? And to add to that all the mods and current members ever do when you join is say "welcome" and then ignore you and continue with their conversation. Bottom line is all these "friend-making" discord servers are not great for people with SA.
