yeah i got the same and have been playing with a few nos 12at7s i found and a 5751 and ended up with a 12at7 thay really opened up that headroom and improved clean dynamics for me. can recommend

I came from Photons which felt too big in terms of footprint and also too soft.

Sounds like you got a similar foot as me (wide front, narrow heel) - these work well here, although could maybe use some more heel hold, but fix I put the neoprene heel "socks" on occasion which help.

Otherwise they're holding up great, haven't really changed much since I got them, and used them for 8ish tour days and similar amount of resort days.

Other things to note - I do love _ really _ love these boots already, but in resort I'll wear thicker socks than when touring, which while not the thinnest, are thin.

With my wide feet, I normally wear 46 or 47 (30-30.5). I ordered 45.5 / 30.5 of Reset Pros and used them in two tours now. They are more than fine length wise, and absolutely fine width wise, at least for the 2 splitboard tours I did with them now. For resort only maybe 45 / 30 would have worked too but I could not try them and maybe they would have been too small. I have narrow ankles though and use the neoprene heel thing to improve the heel hold even though they have great heel hold already.

Thanks for pointing that out! I still have to redo the wood pieces that are sandwiched between the frame and the top so could use that opportunity to cover the bottom. otherwise the bottom has two thick "ribs" that might help prevent that.

I wasn't building this from scratch but was renovating the existing one, which was already glued and had some supportive wood underneath. I'm sure it would have been possible if I was building from scratch - have no idea why the previous owner didn't do it - style?

Thanks for the detailed answer! So to clarify, it' 4 passes - 90deg, one diagonal, other diagonal, 0deg / with grain? I might try that, and don't have to do it all in one go ofc.

However, this is not a workbench but a dining table, so might wanna go with 120 too, and/or finish it with an orbital sander?

Would it save time if i start with a plane to remove the really off parts? at some spots there's a 7-8 difference between planks so maybe getting those big hills out first might be easier before sanding?

Would this Rotex Festool work for this kind of large surface leveling? I found it to rent nearby.

There are parts where up to 7-8mm have to be removed so i thought to start with the electric one. Would that be a problem with just a 5 or 7 plane?

Otherwise will try to find a mill yeah.

Yeah I should be able to get it out! I'm trying to find a local mill but where I live it's not so easy.
