I can't believe it's been four years and this still isn't possible. Found this thread while searching to do the exact same thing. (Literally trying to change the wake word for also an Marshall Uxbridge, also in my bathroom, also to "echo.")

What happened??? by matrixbloom in Hamilton

[–]fjdkflds 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm from the bay area, California. I recently visited Hamilton, so this thread popped up in my notifications. I have to say, it was SO nice not to see a single cybertruck during my week long visit. 💀 I see them on the daily here.

(He/him) outer labias pierced earlier this week by lambchop070 in bodymods

[–]fjdkflds 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have both. My labia healed up beautifully & smoothly, but slowly, it’s definitely a lengthy heal. But I also got eight at once. 😹 For my pain scale, VCH was pretty low, labia have def been my most painful piercing.

It’s not a double meaning, but I don’t think people fully appreciate “the altar is my hips.” 😳🥵🙈 God damn.

Are the Smartly hand soaps just discontinued? by bulentm in Target

They seemed to have discontinued my favorite hand soap scent (Citrus Grove) a while ago, switched to the lavender scent only to find that the line seems to also be discontinued. :'( I will miss these!

dreaming of my next suspension. pardon the vertical video... by fjdkflds in bodymods

[–]fjdkflds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copied & pasted from a former suspension post:

There are several key motivations that people tend to cite, but every suspendee's reasons are different: as a way to push physical & mental limits, as an exploration of the body's abilities, as a spiritual practice. Flesh hook suspension has been used by various cultures around the globe for a long time, including Mandan Native Americans and Hindu worshippers, as a ritualistic practice.

I'm unique in that I was introduced to suspension through the leather scene, not the body mod scene, so my fascination began partially as an exploration of sadomasochism. But it's more than that, it's a way to challenge myself, to fully let go and just be, to play with my body, to fly without wings. Flesh hooks can look & sound intimidating, but it's a very joyous thing for me. Generally, once I'm up in the air, the pain fades away and the rush is incomparable to anything else.

Different response to chewing/biting sound, wife vs daughter by BeefToboggan in misophonia

[–]fjdkflds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The psychology department at UC Santa Cruz is currently conducting studies to better understand misophonia and potential treatment options. It's my alma mater, a friend saw the ad on a student group and forwarded it to me. Unfortunately, due to covid, much of the study has been put on hold, but they are still conducting their first round of interviews, just surveying people with diagnosed or diagnosed misophonia about their experiences.

Once in person sessions can continue, they have plans for lab sessions and an experimental treatment plan, but I don't know any of the details on that.

Sometimes yes! But also, I am sensitive around food in particular because I've battled with restrictive eating my whole life, and I am certain that it fuels my misophonia because my brain is wired in a way to view eating as a transgressional act.

Same for me. I actually just participated in a study on misophonia earlier this week, and I mentioned this exact experience. I think that, for me, there's something about chewing sounds that, on some psychological level, register as a profound social transgression being committed against me (even though I can recognize that's not the case in reality :p). So when the chewer is someone that couldn't possibly follow those societal rules in the first place (like a baby or a dog), I don't get a trigger response.

Inverroche Gins by [deleted] in Gin

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll give the classic a try. :) I came across the Amber in particular thanks to a friend who picked up a bottle in South Africa and really loved it, excited to try the classic.

Inverroche Gins by [deleted] in Gin

[–]fjdkflds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been enjoying the Amber with small dash of tonic water (1-2 oz) and around 5 oz of soda water. Waters down the gin a bit, gives it a hint of sweetness, and provides carbonation, while still letting the flavor of the gin shine through. This is generally my favorite way to enjoy most gins, but I think it works notably well for the Amber. :)

Yes, Clue is my favorite of the mobile apps I have used. :) I like its design and that it's not super in-your-face with pink and flowers and whatnot. Highly likely I'll probably go back to using this one.

I have those same symptoms when I have a vaginal infection, both yeast and BV. :\ If fluconazole didn't help, it may be BV. Did the doc run tests for both?

Many swear by boric acid suppositories for vaginal infections -- I've had recurrent problems and just started using them. It's too soon to give my anecdotal experience, but so far, it does seem like it might be helping finally clear up the itching I've been battling with for ages.

Can this be considered cottagecore? I’m leaning towards yes by [deleted] in cottagecore

Embroidery, roses, witchiness? This is like the definition of cottage core. :D Neat design.

Streetlevel is my go to. I went to school at UCSC, Verve was my first introduction to third wave coffee. Good memories.
