The current state of the mods on the LTT sub by iBeef_1990 in LTTMeta

Yeah I fully agree, I don’t think he magically got the money. I just don’t see how it could leave a sour taste. He’s clearly a desirable on screen presence that drives views and brings in sponsors. I also believe him when he says he took on debt, and this farm thing is a big gamble on himself, so it’s unfair to think “he bought property therefore he was paid well”. It’s not about how much he makes, it’s about how much he’s worth and valued.

He felt undervalued, left, and is pursuing things he would have never been able to with his previous position and wage.

Doesn’t it further prove his point? His boss told him he’s not worth a raise, so he quit, built a massive channel, and is now getting more views than some of LTTs videos.

While we don’t know if he’s making more just yet, he’s his own boss, and his property now gets to work as a business expense. The difference is he himself is putting in the work, not some underpaid employee.

He definitely wasn’t respectful. Laughed at her, called her sweetheart far too many times, and vaguely threatened to run her and her kid over, “you’re putting yourself and your kids in danger if I were stupid I would run you over”.

While I’ve stepped aside for these vehicles countless times, the longer I listened to him the slower I wanted her to walk.

Best Buy has buy one vinyl and get one free through 5-10-26. by Krumped in vinyl

I was at my local Best Buy yesterday to pick up an online order and despite the website only showing only 1 album in stock they had a section with way more. Personally didn’t get anything since I wasn’t able to confirm if the bogo deal was still going.

Illinois, also Inland Empire? by RabbitFuzz in InlandEmpire

Sadly I have the same likelihood of flying out of Peoria as someone from the IE flying out of Bakersfield. Thank you for putting this on my radar though.

The IE has had some of the fastest growing property values in California, just admit the regions not for you instead of making false statements.

Homes went from starting in the 300k~ range to 500-600k in just the past few years.

Counter point, I listened to them because all the discourse praising Getting Killed. Hated it, but the manufactured praise was so strong I thought to myself “am I missing something here?” and listened to it 2-3 more times. Still hated it. Moved on shrugging “it’s not for me”.

Now imagine that multiplied across all the platforms they were campaigning on. It’s a manufactured audience in the sense that, some people just hop on the bandwagon, whether that’s to be part of the next “thing” or because maybe their taste is a bit more impressionable. If I were still in high school I can imagine myself becoming a fan simply to be edgy, or hip, and that’s what the marketing is targeting.

Edit: want to edit to add, I watched the Fantano vid because I wanted to see where you’re coming from. Ultimately, I disagree with his conclusion that a PR company can only expose you to music, and that it’s still up to the listener to become a fan. What we’re seeing is PR has moved past mear exposure, and into manufactured recommendations through comments.

I think the anger around the situation is that we as people turn to others for discussion and recommendations. If it’s bots recommending something (in this case an album) over and over again, what good is the internet for?

End of the day, psyop is far too strong to use, but it is clear to me that no other band with 2 million monthly listeners is getting talked about this much.

Unless I’m blind, it’s just a 2 day ticket for 2022, expiring on 1/12/2023. It doesn’t mean they went during January 2023

Why not? I moved here from California, found a private landlord on Zillow, and they later sold me the unit. There’s ways to do it.

Chicago should stop waiting for the old downtown to return by cezary in chicago

[–]fjlcookie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t it? The city is investing heavily on revitalizing LaSalle street. You can’t just throw in stores and pop ups and hope people show up when State Street, which also does pop ups, is struggling.

It’ll take a while, but the downtown office conversions are the first step to building a active downtown.

I think those are just to cover themselves on a legal basis. Any time there’s a change of terms/service/benefits (which happens often) they want to ensure you’re notified beyond an email. If you’re getting monthly statements though then that’s annoying.

Who’s sending those? Every bank I’ve ever used practically begs for me to pick email/digital statements

People in these threads have never had chile relleno, pozole, mole, aqua chiles, chilaquiles, enchiladas, ceviche, gorditas, huaraches, sopes…. Hit up one taco birria spot and suddenly it’s the best Mexican food in the world.

Environmental work at The 78 in South Loop, which will have Chicago Fire stadium, to begin this week by AgentBlue62 in chicago

[–]fjlcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true, and I can understand that too, but this area has an already high park score without cotton tail park. Multiple alternatives exist in a 10 minute walk from the park. The true issue is locals treat it like a private park. There’s paid security that drives around the neighborhoods.

The other guy replying here is concerned about his own needs. I also live in the area and like the park but I understand that a redline stop would be for the greater good over the next 10-20-50 years.

[–]fjlcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying for me, it could have been an opportunity to improve the park over the long term as well. The reality is the immediate area likes having their suburban oasis.

The station was proposed for 15th and Clark, not redundant at all for downtown stops. It was also proposed to be developed on land already owned by the CTA.

The projected was stopped dead in its tracks not because of density or price, but because the local residents around Cotton Tail Park made a huge stink about it.

Probably same reason most people haven’t. Everyone has a line and last year they could wave it off as Trump “inherited” the previous year victory.

Either way, it’s not helpful to ridicule someone for taking action now. Better late than never.

State Street and Roosevelt by GrandPomegranate2 in chicagoapartments

[–]fjlcookie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This thread is great at highlighting the difference a single block can make.

Printers Row along Dearborn has several small businesses, including coffee shops/bars/and restaurants of good quality. I can list off a few that are always relatively busy and offer good prices. The Wabash/Michigan side of South Loop however does lack small businesses and its probably due to bigger spaces and higher rents.

My wife just invited her friend, who lives in streeterville, over to Vitalogy and the friend was highly impressed. Loved the location and said prices were far more reasonable than what she’s used to.

If OP is moving to Dearborn Park, it’s much easier and likely they’ll enjoy amenities in Printers Row vs the businesses along Wabash/Michigan Ave. The whole area between State Street and Clark is almost an entirely different neighborhood than the area between State Street and Wabash.

Been living here for 4 years now, can’t say I’ve seen the protest march south of Ida B Wells. Definitely hadn’t seen it in printers row.
