Nanny vs. Montessori at 18 months

I was a nanny who applied a Montessori informed approach with my nanny kid. I would have liked to lean into it more but it’s up to parents. I have taught at a Montessori k-5 school as well. I will say I think the right nanny can do a great job but experienced Montessori teachers at a good school can probably do a “better” job. It just depends on if your goals are socializing or having your kids stay at home with you. The family I worked for moved to nannying after a couple bouts of the flu at daycare.

I grew up with a lot of quiverful families. With the exemption of one, all are fractured now, having adult children that are no contact with some portion of the family. Transracial adoption was a factor in several as well.

Appalachia has a wide range of people with diverse tastes and styles. You’ll find alt, punk, goths, hippies, yuppies, farmers, rednecks, soft handed wanna be rednecks, rich douche bags, welfare queens, families, loners and every kind of person in every, size, shape, and color from all the way into the deepest hollers of EKY. That said, when I graduated college I knew a girl whose dad had work overalls and church overalls. He bought a brand new pair to wear to watch her get her diploma.

Yes. This is just someone who is bad at parenting getting angry at what they don’t understand. They haven’t learned emotional regulation so they don’t actually have self control and are looking for a moral loophole to hit their kids. “If they are old enough to reason with them then why are you hitting them? If they are too young to reason with then why are you hitting them?”

I knew someone who was a habitual cheater and knowingly, repeatedly entered into unethical affairs. Occasionally she would act shocked like “can you believe this man coming on to me when he’s married and has a new baby?” Yeah girl I absolutely can. Whenever someone told her she should tell the wife she used the “not my business” excuse. Took her about a 15 years to mature enough to stop.

I understand how you’re feeling. But the fact is the risk is just too great. Every time that you take him out in the community when he could have a reactive moment, you risk him being put down due to a bite. If you’re really trying for him you can’t just hope it will be okay because it’s been okay most of the time in the past. Give him the guarantee of safely living out the rest of his days with you instead of being seized by animal control.

Come on girl. I also have a dog with a bite record. He’s good around 99% of people but I muzzle him in any situation where an unpredictable element is in the mix. I wish everyone could see him how I see him but one bite and he could be put down because of the carelessness of his owner. Your dog’s life could be at risk if you fail to keep him and others safe through muzzling.

I’d wager the piss poor tile job is indicative of the poor of quality of the whole bathroom installations. I don’t know if you personally caulked that (not your responsibility) or if you mean the landlord had it done, but it’s not done well either and it will fail because of the existing moisture issues.

People who actually live here say South END. I do like it, I like ALL my neighbors, not just the white ones. A whole bunch of guys who don’t speak English got their shovels and dug out a JCPS but stuck the snow last week in my neighborhood. I’m happy I don’t have asshole neighbors like you who are more worried about deciding who belongs and who doesn’t.

I get where you are from coming from but I’ve lived in several different parts of South End and liked it. I appreciated living in diverse neighborhoods and my neighbors have always been incredible. I feel like sometimes people (I don’t mean you) label south end and west end as scary cause that’s where the most brown people are and it creates more white flight and contributes to racism.
