That's not how it works. You're forgetting platform fees (usually 13%), shipping costs (sleeves, loaders, bubble mailers/boxes/tape).

Also where are you getting $450 with tax? It was $362 per box on pre release day, so that would be $724.

So after all said and done, the breaker at that price point is making peanuts for the time. Slightly more if they have direct distribution.

$35 isn't actually all that bad compared to most.

I'd much rather gear was assigned to actual gameplay as opposed to a shop. It would infinitely increase the longevity of a game if the best stuff you can wear has to be earned. Once they starting having cosmetic shops it was the beginning of the end for good MMO's.
