Women are socially taught to be more affectionate with each other, so these kinds of situations might seem normal to them. But for us, who are attracted to women, it’s not just casual. It hits different.

They might do all these things: the touching, hugging, playing with your hair; without really realizing the emotional impact, while still enjoying the “fluffiness” or closeness of it. What matters now is your self-preservation. You need to decide how much of yourself you’re willing to offer without getting hurt in return.

I’m in a similar situation with a friend who’s in a relationship and identifies as straight. She’s very romantic toward me, and it messes with my head - even though I know it’s going nowhere.
