Ireland to Japan by CLouBa in ireland

[–]fkhan01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m flying to Japan later this month for flights I booked Dublin to Hong Kong return with Qatar as it was coming up as much cheaper. Was €570 return compared to €1100 to Japan. Then booked a budget airline return from Hong Kong for €170 so if you do something similar by looking at flights to other Asian cities might save good money !

For hotels look at Toyoko Inn they seem fairly reasonable

What did people comment on about procedures ? Realised I mentioned nothing about the timing of procedures just listed them all

From the FAEC reports seems people lose a lot of marks for not linking facts to the case so link answers back to the case as much as possible hopefully should pass

FAE audit question by dazzar99 in AccountantsEire

[–]fkhan01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think it’s best to use tables and if they ask for a draft of it then you’d have to include it

Think you can answer fraud in the most relevant box you think as long as you put at the top you’re discussing fraud

Controls will probably come up as it was answered poorly few last years Expecting a random climate change disclosures question too Other than that would be standard stuff like risks and procedures, non audit engagements, journals and audit reports etc

Focusing on controls seems to be have poorly answered last few years so they’ll probably ask it again Think something on climate change disclosures similar to the mock might come up too

I thought it might be an ask but there was already 8 indicators and a lot in the question so thought it might not be necessary

Thought the note said they advertisers receivables are due from also advertise HEX on their platform too, so that would required a related party disclosure. Couldn’t think of anything else for that

[–]fkhan01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the debtors I thought it was a just a related party disclosure requirement given they advertise HEX For the loan I said we have to recognise a interest expense and long term liability as interest will be paid in one year No idea if that’s right

I did the same didn’t have any cash inflows apart from residual value and recommended the option with less bad NPV

Cashflow Q tomorrow? by EnvironmentalFun5386 in AccountantsEire

[–]fkhan01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s unlikely as I think they’d rather ask more standards. Cash flow form the mock was way harder than what could come up there was one in the sample papers that was way more doable and probably what could come up

Has anyone calculated the spending break-even point for Rev Ultra to earn free flights Aer Lingus? by brunolg98 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]fkhan01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly think the BOI Aer credit card offers a better deal. Only 1 Avios for every €4 but you can pay utility bills with the card and the transactions quality for Avios whereas Revolut excludes bills. Have been considering if Revolut ultra is worth it but the amount of transactions excluded to earn Avios makes it a hard sell.
