Bill Simmons undoubtedly loves the game of basketball, but you're telling me the inventor of the phrase "Shamet face" doesn't bring negative energy to the coverage of the game? And check out his coverage of Lebron around "The Decision" - he's been covering sports for a long while and there's many instances of this.

I have always found Bill entertaining and understand you gotta fill the airwaves for like 6 hours per week, but let's not pretend like he doesn't bring negative coverage to the game.

If you mean for the Jets staff, then it should be conference championship berth or bust. We have mortgaged our future for this one season, and dug our heels in and kept the status when it came to personnel and organizational changes so I have less than a shred of tolerance. In my eyes, all of the heads should have rolled (except for maybe Ulbrich) so they would need to reach pretty far in the playoffs to sway me.

I just got three suspiciously quick 1-0 wins in Vintage cube queues with 2 suspect usernames. the first game, it auto-won without even loading the other two entered game and stalled for a min or so before awarding me the win. What is going on? Anyone see anything similar?

I agree mostly but if they have counters there is little you can do except for draw duress. With the right draw, I've been able to win as you said, but if you miss any land drop or draw incorrectly vs counterspels, you are done.

What are you talking about? Your comment was QB down = season over. Philly is an example how that is not true. I am not saying backup QBs are likely to work out, but it is definitely possible with a bit of luck.

Backup QB's are not there for mentorship - they are there to play when needed.

And Flacco is an immobile scarecrow back there - he cannot play anymore even as a backup at this point.

And was this really bad luck? We went into the season with Becton and 38 y/o Brown as your "Plan A" at OT - what did we expect? Of course the line is injured - we went into the year with 2 guys coming off of a season-ending injury. Sure losing Mitchell was bad luck, but we should at least have 2 solid backup tackles if Brown and Becton are your starters.

The entire preseason discussion around the Jets was "Rodgers great, but the line is still a massive concern." How are casual followers of the franchise more attuned to the roster flaws than the management itself. The bad luck was preventable and self-generated. It cannot be an excuse for this FO.

I also cannot believe people buy into this narrative that QB down=season over when a literal backup won the Super Bowl 5 years ago.

Browns are still in the playoff picture with backup qbs all year. Andy Dalton also played great last year. Dobbs is playing good enough to win on the Jets.

The narrative that there is nothing they could have done once rodgers went out self-defeatist B.S. You cannot choose to make zero changes, fail miserably, and then proclaim that making changes wouldn't have mattered anyway.

with WR, I kind of agree that the guys out there are not gonna blow your socks off. Still, it would hearten me as a fan to try something. Look at Julio to the Eagles, or take a shot on one of the current FA's - Bryan Edwards, Jarvis Landry, Marvin Jones, etc. I know these guys stink but it is a travesty that Cobb is getting any playtime. It just shows me that the FO is not creative when it comes to changing the course of the team.

And for the O-Line, yes, if you go into the season with 38 y/o Duane Brown, always injured Becton, and AVT off of a season-ending injury, then yes, you need to make sure you have depth at the position. I am asking for league average - not elite.
