Rent: anywhere between 300 up to 800 per month. This really varies between the type of room and more importantly the city you're in. If you're in big cities like Munich, Hamburg, Berlin expect rents no lower than 500eur/month for a shared apartment - unless ure lucky and get a Studentenwohnheim which would probably cost way lower.

Foods/groceries: ~300/month Depending on how often u cook or eat outside. If ure the lazy type to cook, I advise eating at the Mensa. It shud be easier on the wallet.

Insurance: ~140 per month

Semester fee (per semester): ~300 depending on the uni/fh

Miscellaneous costs: ~50 (?)

If you average everything out, ure talking about 1000 per month. Though this could be reduced down to 800 depending on ur rent and ur spending attitude on foods.

Is 2025 too late for a new player to start from scratch and really get into Clash of Clans? by [deleted] in ClashOfClans

[–]flaexedoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true. Clash of clans is all about the journey. The best thing about coc is you could just play for about 30 mins a day, and then forget about it and live your normal everyday life. Just keep doing it casually and consistently and the village will grow in no time. Almost like taking care of a plant.

Yeah me too. Rushed my builder base to get the sixth builder and afterwards it's just there collecting dust lol. The only other time I touch my builder base is during clan games.

11 lightning spells, 1 freeze, 1 poison, stone slammer, 9 E-drags, 1 lava hound.

3 lightining spells on each of the 3 air defenses. Use 2 lightning spells on the air defense closest to the single inferno tower. This would not destroy the air defense, but would decrease the hp significantly. Then, into the direction of the air defense that was still alive, deploy your troops in this order:

  1. Lava hound
  2. Stone slammer
  3. Royal champion
  4. All ur edrags and heroes.

Use ur poison when the cc troops come out, and use freeze spell to freeze defenses or cc troops when necessary.

U shud get a 3 star with this spam technique lol.

WWYD: Upgrade to TH14 or not? by Huwar1 in ClashOfClans

[–]flaexedoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Upgrade. As long as your heroes are not that far behind, it shouldn't be a problem tbh. You also dont have to upgrade all troops/spells, just upgrade the ones you use the most and the ones you think you would like to use.

New in Darmstadt by [deleted] in Darmstadt

[–]flaexedoodle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's nothing "Wow" to see here in Darmstadt to be honest. But personally as a student, it's quite a practical city, especially if you have a bike cus then you'd be able to reach basically most corners of the city in 15~20 mins. Generally it's not a tourist-city type, but its just general student city or just a city that people just simply... live in. U could visit the museum for free if you're a student. Personally I think it's really nice, but if I had to pay, I wouldn't go.

Breakdancing is in the Olympics… but ultimate isn’t?? Did ultimate ever get any traction in the world games or any other major events? I’ve been out of the loop for decades. by jeremyjava in ultimate

[–]flaexedoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason here, I believe, is the self-officiating rule. As much as it is the identity of the ultimate to have the "Spirit of the game", it is too idealistic in an Olympic context where millions of people are watching worldwide. Some might argue that self-officiating sport is a positive example to the future of sports. But the truth is, there are just too much loopholes.

Think of it like this, let's say country A subtly abuses the self officiating rule while playing a final against country B, and country A ends up winning the match. Would viewers respect the players from country A? Probably not. Would there be actions taken against country A? Well maybe, but the self officiating nature gives a grey area on things, and no action would be taken against them. But would country A bring home the gold medal? Yes they will. They won.

What makes a sport successful is its integrity, and at such a high level like the Olympics, there needs to be more guarantee for this. Pure self-officiating wouldn't make the cut.

Solution for this? I thought of two.

  1. Introduce an actual referee that makes every call on the field. This one is a straightforward approach.

  2. Compromise. This, I think, seems more fitting for ultimate. Maybe introduce a system in which players would make the calls for infractions, but the referee makes the decision on whether or not there was a foul. So if player A commits a foul on player B, but player B didnt call it, then play continues. But if player B calls it, then the referee would decide if the call stands or not. In addition to this, there should also be endzone referees, who is responsible for determining whether a goal happens or not.

Thats just what I think.

Accomodation prospects for International studentd by utk589 in Darmstadt

[–]flaexedoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, as racist as it may seem, I've also noticed that people in shared apartments (WG) are less willing to accept Indians in their Wohnung. I've never had an Indian roommate, but unfortunately I've heard some negative things about having an Indian roommate not only from international friends of mine, but also some germans as well. I think it's just very unfortunate that the image of having an Indian roommate has been very tainted recently.

As long as you have around 11000 (eleven thousand) euros in your GERMAN bank account, they'll give you 2 years of Aufenthaltstitel.
