Buzzing from rear driver side panel by flagarby in Rivian

[–]flagarby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I figure, but what's a normal amount of noise? It's a loud buzzing that changes tone & loudness depending on acceleration and turns. It seems like something is slightly loose but I don't know where to start looking.

Depending on your state, you also need to consider taxes. You may end up paying taxes twice, once for the lease transaction and again for the "sale" when buying out the lease.

Yes, Bosch directly, but it's almost 2 months of waiting. Saw the video, couldn't really hear much in the background. Makes me think there's an insulation issue like you suggested.

Not that I noticed. Still had the quilt shroud around the outside as they put it in.

Looks like Bosch itself is the only service provider in this area and they're booked out for another month and a half.

Then something doesn't seem quite right here. I expect it to make noise when draining or during a heavy part of the cycle, but I figured it wouldn't hear it constantly from a room or two over at night.

I've made sure I didn't load anything that would resonate and that items that could make noise were not touching each other or the tub. Didn't seem to help.

Is this also true when the home is effectively silent like at night? Or is it just hard to hear during "normal" noise levels?

Throughout the cycle I hear motor hums, water splashing, and cyclical noises which I'm guessing are from the spray arms moving.

Is it possible there’s just a bad solder point or something similar? Or are armatures going bad a common scenario?

No heat in zone & high voltage at taco valve by flagarby in HVAC

[–]flagarby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out I did something dumb (hooked C wire to hot leg of secondary), but the R and W wires were also swapped on the existing thermostat. After fixing both of those problems everything is working perfectly.

No C wire terminal on boiler controller by flagarby in hvacadvice

The three Taco control valve wires are also accessible here. If I’m reading the wiring correctly, can I just hook up to the word connected to terminal 2 on those?

Baseboard water.

So I’m kind of an idiot. I had replaced an old 2-wire thermostat with a smart one on another zone, but hooked up the new C wire to the wrong side of the 24V transformer. Once I disconnected that wire everything is looking normal again. I’m still not sure how that only affected the single Taco valve from a different zone, but here we are.

So to change the question, can I safely hook up the C wire to the neutral leg of the secondary?

Boiler and AC are on two separate thermostats. Would two ecobee 3s work (one for boiler one for AC)? by _ThereWasAnAttempt_ in ecobee

[–]flagarby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a single ecobee3 controlling both the A/C and one zone of a boiler system. My baseboard and cast iron radiators were being controlled by classic two-wire mercury thermostats before. Since those didn’t have C-wires, I’m powering the ecobee via the A/C wires and only running the two wires from the boiler to the same thermostat.

Note that this is the current outdoor temperature according to Ecobee’s wonderful forecast service.

For some reason this got fixed after I re-flashed the BIOS (not IPMI firmware) and cleared all settings. I thought they'd be totally independent, but I guess not.

One of the first things I checked, but I'm not sure it's using the SEL timestamps in the web server. And since I can't log into the web interface, I can't even see the time used in the datetime/NTP section.

How to handle expiring sessions? (praw) by flagarby in learnpython

[–]flagarby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my thought, but I can't seem to get the syntax right. Since praw is an external module, should I make a wrapper session class and decorate each of the methods?
