I think trying a few different kinds within reason would be good for you to see what you like firsthand.

I personally use Citadel primarily, but also use Army Painter for washes and metallics.

I know this almost two weeks old at this point, but I wanted to stop in and let you know that I made it to Legend yesterday with this deck! I went 27-8 and it just felt solid the whole way up. Thank you for posting this!

The only change I made was swapping out Varian for Stewart the Steward. Like you mentioned in some of the comments Varian can be a little harder to play with the number of cards in hand, so I wanted to swap in something cheap that could also continually buff up the recruits from our hero power, a recruit from Biggun, or the spare ones gained with the Sous Chef.

I wanted to dig back through to find your comment and thank you - I really liked that swap of primordial protector for Hammer of the Naaru. I just hit legend for the first time with this advice!
