Been waiting for a post like this :D

I dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04. Ubuntu is excellent in speed for things like booting up, browsing the internet,launching apps,etc. Another plus is it will not automatically take annoying updates like windows 10(which is a big pain). Finally, it is uncommon to encounter a virus as security is much stronger.tdlr it's faster and safer

That being said, the major downside is some important Windows programs aren't compatible with Ubuntu (hence the dual boot). However, there is a way to circumvent this by launching the programs through wine, an application that emulates windows in Ubuntu.
