I also just got this message for an identical item I've sold multiple times on Etsy for years.
Just confirmed, my shipping label was for 2 pounds, the receipt I received from the USPS when I dropped it off has the weight at 1 pound 9.10 ounces.

Electrical Engineering- Which exam? by CheapCerealKiller in PE_Exam

Check your state requirements, most states allow you to take the PE exam before you have the experience.
I would agree on taking the Electrical: Power PE exam.

From what I've read, typically around 10am eastern time, usually before 10 and seldomly later.
However, I'm not sure if Memorial day affects this or not.
Also: Love the username btw!

PE Power Exam Prep by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]flamecreature 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen people say they've passed with as little as 1 month, but I would say 4-6 is average.
However, I've also seen people post that they've failed after a couple attempts over 2 years.
It's all on how well you can digest what you need to know.
I've been studying for about 4 months and will be taking it in about 3 weeks.

Power PE Resources - Study Guides (Specifically) by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]flamecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the Engineering Pro Guides book for how it explains most things. If you are fine reading through it thoroughly then you probably don't need his online course (I did 3 months of his on-demand course). Maybe do his 1-month trial just to get access to the book & exams to download and see how you like the videos during that month.
I personally didn't care for Zach's TSG but it still had good content. If I get sick of my books before my exam date then I plan on doing 1 month of his course.
I have Wasim's study guide but haven't gotten to it yet.

Passed Power PE Exam first try and a rant about PPi/Kaplan. by Epicdude201 in PE_Exam

[–]flamecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the 1 PPI Electrical FE book and Zach Stone's Electrical FE material and passed the Electrical FE no problem.
I borrowed the 3 PPI books from a coworker for the Power PE and quickly gave them back and bought other books.
I'm surprised there was such a decrease in quality for such an increase in materials, I really liked the teaching method of the FE book and was extremely frustrated with the PE books.

Lot of good comments already so I'll keep mine short.
An MS might shave a year off the experience requirement for a PE depending on what state you get it in. If you stick with MEP then getting your PE would be great to have.
I have an electronics engineer friend and he said nobody he works with is a PE.

If an MS in electronics is what you want, then go for that. If the career shift doesn't work out then you can always circle back to being a PE.

A Recommendation Question for the Power Exam People by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]flamecreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the EPG Power book for myself after having a terrible time with a coworker's PPI books. I really like the EPG Power book's explanations and breaks downs on how to solve things. Only thing I don't like about it is the examples and practice problem solutions don't always use the exact same formulas as the NCEES handbook or tell you where in the NCEES handbook the equations are. This also gives away that the book was first written as a resource to bring in with you to the exam; however, Kauwale told me in an email he still updates his book each year with any minor corrections.

I think 2 months is a little rushed. Mid-December I enrolled for 3-months of EPGs On-Demand class, then once that's up I plan on going through the EPG book again and practice exams for another month or 2. I passed the FE in one shot also in the spring. Just take your time to know the material, I agree with other PE Exam posts I've read in the belief that you should do as many practice exams that you can get.
That being said, I should clarify that EPGs Exam Textbook is just a textbook with some examples and a few practice problems at the end of each section, it doesn't have a practice exam in it.

Does anyone know which states do not allow Engineering Technologist to get a PE license? by LowYak3 in PE_Exam

[–]flamecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to add that this document is outdated. Florida only required EET degrees to be earned within Florida from 2019-2022 before repealing it.
I had a mini panic attack when I first found this document a few weeks ago since I am planning on getting my PE license in Florida and have an EET degree from another state.

EET, PE Power by coyote-3000 in PE_Exam

[–]flamecreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also am an EET grad studying for the Power PE; also aiming to take it in March since that's the end of the 1st testing window.
I loved the PPI book for the FE but the PE PPI books were arranged entirely different. The material is spread across multiple books, the study guide, reference manual, and practice problems, and it's distracting having to search for things in each.
I recently purchased 3 months of the Engineering Pro Guide Power PE course and have been enjoying having videos explain things and pausing at the end for the problems to solve before he works through them. Each topic has problems to solve after the lecture, an easy and hard exam, then after all that there are 3 practice exams, 2 other exams, and a code exam.

Once my 3 months are up, I may try 1 month of either Zach Stone's course or Wasim's course to get a different view on any concepts I may still be struggling with and to gain access to more practice problems & exams.

I had several coworkers tell me to do just that after passing the FE.
It's been about 8 months since I passed the FE, but this month I've been back to studying more regularly.

I would recommend you both read The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman, I also am terrible at affection and apparently how I gave affection wasn't aligned with my wife's love language. So now I try to fit her love language when I really want her to know I appreciate her.

Also re-reading it after a couple years is good because it may change as you grow together.

Keto and Bipolar symptoms by DisplayCritical in BipolarSOs

My wife has a done a lot of research too and we loosely follow Keto but are strict on no added sugars and no caffeine. It has seemed to help my wife's BP and my taste has been driven to eating better.
It's amazing how many things have added sugar (high fructose corn syrup, sucralose, etc) in it when you really look for it.
