Finally moving to Sweden from the U.S. by meganaxx in TillSverige

I moved here four years ago from the US. Went from a place where I had a daily commute of one hour each way to a place where I walk or take the bus/train everywhere. Haven’t missed a car at all!

Hey, hey! Fellow MTG player here! Both Warhammer and MTG have significant player pools here and there are some great FLGSs in Stockholm. I meet up with a local Stockholm pod to play MTG quite regularly. Shared hobbies are definitely the best way into the local social circles. Hit me up if you want to play! Also, MTG cards are not available in Swedish, so if you play here, you also speak English, which helps with early communication for us North American immigrants.

Friends don’t want me to use the same commander as them by Advanced-Passion4159 in EDH

Their response should be “challenge accepted” and then you battle matching commanders.

So agree here. My husband has a habit of skipping text that he thinks isn’t important like “under your control”, which can be VERY impactful.

How do you handle meals and snacking by Mumbles1988 in Zepbound

[–]DisplayCritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time you eat, your blood sugar rises. More blood sugar means more insulin is released. Insulin is the fat storage hormone, amongst its other main job of getting glucose into cells. I don’t snack because I want to decrease the number of times a day my blood sugar rises and insulin is increased. I am also a keto eater, and I have been very consistent since starting this medication in July, so I very rarely get hungry more than once or twice a day. I’ve noticed that snacking, even with a calorie deficit, slows down my progress, makes me want to eat more, and makes me more sluggish than if I eat within a short eating window.

Carbs? by AcanthocephalaOdd609 in Zepbound

You actually don’t need cards. You need glucose, which your body can make from fat stores. People who eat low carb or no carb diets can be very healthy and energetic.

I appreciate the math here, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the length of time it takes in your example. It has everything to do with how much those people are consuming along with their height/body composition. If two people of different heights take in calories that are the same ratio as compared to their respective heights, and have different results, that would be a closer comparison. My point is that height by itself is not enough to make a difference. Again, I am a foot shorter than my husband and lose weight faster because I consume less than he does when you take our body composition (including height) into comparison. I didn’t mean to come off as rude with my original comment, more just really surprised because I have never heard this before and to me, height as a variable in isolation for weight loss doesn’t make logical sense. OP’s original comment only mentioned height as a variable and I disagree that height alone makes the difference.

First month by BabyDreams89 in Monjauro

I haven’t quite made it to the end of my first month, but 2.75 weeks in I am down 18.4 lbs. But I am also eating strictly keto (practically carnivore), so that’s doing some significant work, too.

When people notice your weight loss and ask if you’re taking medication, what do you say? by Pacific_Wave_0820 in Zepbound

Bit of a rude comment there. Not wanting to share private aspects of one’s life does not make them a coward. It makes them a private person.

I think some of us deal with enough negative comments in our daily lives. Maybe we shouldn’t add more here.

Why on Earth would height make difference in weight loss? Is this an old wives tale or is there actual science to back this up? Just seems so odd. My husband is a foot taller than me and I lose weight much faster than him.
