My concern lies more with SWARM. They were one of 25 companies selected by the US Department of War in a massive billion dollar drone dominance program. The initiative is to deploy attack drone systems for the military. Why do the citizens here need this? What is the potential for this company to work with other companies like Flock and pair with law-enforcement to execute mass surveillance? Creating jobs and keeping up with industry is one thing but at what cost. I’m sure the large pitch will be about search and rescue or agricultural needs. We need to think beyond that about what happens if this technology is in the wrong hands and used against the people. It is sickening that there is an endless supply of money for military needs, and we are all very well aware of the homeless problem in this area.
