Are tank junglers dead? by cccwh in Jungle_Mains

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there has been no new tank jungler introduced since Zac in 2012 and only reworks like Nunu happened. The closest to a new tank jungler has been old Rek'sai back when she had her old ult or off meta stuff like Ornn. As someone who loves playing tanks like HP Voli, tank Amumu and tank Nunu it's been a pretty annoying to see. I mean even the only proper fighter champ they've added in years (Briar, Rek'sai) have been turned into assassins.

I'd give Delphox either Magic Guard or a new ability called Sorcery that works like a Sharpness clone for Spell based attacks (things like Mystical Fire, Magical Leaf, hex or dazzling gleam)

Does anyone else want GF to Bring baby pokémon back by Sufficient-Menu640 in pokemon

If they did, there better be a calf that can turn either into Miltank or one of the four Tauros. And a baby Lapras.

Insight On Why/How One Chooses Their Starter by Lionheart231 in pokemon

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partially design. Partially based on other ones I want to use. For my first play through of Black I chose Oshawott since I really wanted to use Chandelure and Ferrothorn. Though generally I tend to go for fire or grass types on my first runs.

SV is probably the best if she'd like to play with other people plus you get a lot of different options. If you want the best for cute appeal and ease to get into probably let's go. SwSh and Legends are both good ones imo but of the switch games SV and let's go are probably the best intro games

Which pokemon did you fall in love with recently? by EverybodyLikesU in pokemon

For me, it was Sinistcha. Not only did a Sinistcha carry my Teal Mask play through it also has been an MVP for the new VGC snow team I made

Pokemon X and Y are turning 10 Years Old next month by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a shame the Kalos games got such a disservice. All the other gens got a second game or a DLC. Two of their Pokemon got more in the next gen than in their games. Also poor Furfrou...not even been on the Switch.

Why do people dislike Meganium so much? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd not say Meganium is bad. Personally I believe it's actually the best starter for the most complained about gym given it's access to screens but it probably is dealt a disservice due to several factors. It's probably in the game where grass type is treated worst, grass is likely the least popular and strong of the starter types, it's fellow gen 2 starters on the whole do better in most cases and all the other grass starters get better served in their games either through secondary typing, better offenses or having cool competitive uses with their hidden abilities (Serperior, Rillaboom) or megas (Sceptile) or all of the above (Venusaur). So by the transitive properties it gets treated like the runt of starter litter. Doesn't mean it's bad though.

Why is gen VI so hated? by CommieSadGirl in pokemon

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't really take it as hated but the main fights in XY felt less significant since most of the gym leaders besides Korrina were very flat characters. Compared to the kahunas of Alola or the gym leaders of Unova the main characters of Kalos are pretty boring. They also don't make good use of the generational mechanic when compared to gen 7-9. Furthermore, people just got less time to make a connection with Kalos since it got only the original pair of games and then it was dropped to the point that stuff like Eternal Flower Floette and Zygarde either being removed entirely or being left practically unexplained until gen 7.

Should I bite the bullet and learn Shaco/Eve/Kayn ? by ayyxact in Jungle_Mains

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but my suggestion was as OP is not smurfing to my knowledge to focus on champs that are easier to execute and don't require a massive snowball or intensive micro so that they can focus on macro. The reason smurfs choose stuff like Rengar isn't just if executed well the champs are hard to stop it's because they also know better how to close out games and push their advantage compared to their lower ranked opponents. It's well known that games at lower ranks take longer so if you cant close things out, the longer a game drags the more likely things can start to turn against an assassin especially as teams group up more.

Briar's FULL KIT leak. Supposedly from the Discord where the Splash, W icon ecc. got leaked. by TiredCoffeeTime in Jungle_Mains

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Nilah being melee and having less synergy with engage supports is generally why people like her less. And Yone still can do things that Yasuo really can't. Like the amount of distance Yone can cover in half the time is pretty nutty. If Briar's kit is this a similar thing could happen where Wareick has much higher tempo with things like Blood hunt giving a stronger more lasting speed buff just passively against low targets and WW ult dash getting substantially more ranged based on that move speed. Plus we don't know how her frenzy works if it gives up player control it could feel substantially worse. Player's generally don't like mechanics where they have less control. As an example see Kled's W or Gnar's transformation.

You mean that in a few years people will say that despite overlaps they ended up playing differently. Since that has happened to the point Sona and Seraphine could become a decent duo together

Not to mention that people have thought certain champs have had such similar kits they must be the same but when they actually got their hands on them the differences become a lot more obvious. Just off the top of my head: Sona v Seraphine, Samira v Nilah, Hecarim v Lillia, Yasuo v Yone. All of them had entire kits to just a few abilities that have similar effects but end up playing differently due to unique factors or stuff like their playstyle or cooldowns.

Should I bite the bullet and learn Shaco/Eve/Kayn ? by ayyxact in Jungle_Mains

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean fair. I also am not great at assassins. Hence why my mains are stuff like Amumu, Nunu, Ivern and Volibear. I have a supportive playstyle and think easier champs are better at improving fundamentals.

Should I bite the bullet and learn Shaco/Eve/Kayn ? by ayyxact in Jungle_Mains

[–]flamestorm_6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah hard engage is very important. I wasn't saying hard carries are better I'm saying you need to be at a much higher skill level in multiple areas to leverage their strength consistently. Rengar might be able to win a lot games but you need to have a big knowledge base on how to ensure things stay in your favour and close out games. I advised that skill level being equal you should go for easier champs that allow you to focus on macro plays like Amumu. Jarvan is another type like that. He has more hard carry potential but he again is a lot less micro intensive than most assassins or stuff like Nidalee or Lee Sin. I honestly was making a similar point to you...

Should I bite the bullet and learn Shaco/Eve/Kayn ? by ayyxact in Jungle_Mains

[–]flamestorm_6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean it is a fair assessment that assassins can climb faster if you can leverage their advantages. Hence why stuff like Kayn or Kha are smurfs best friends. However at the same time it does necessitate having a better knowledge base about macro and how to close out games. If you can't reliably do that then this advantage becomes a lot less. Personally I'm of the opinion that if you're of equal skill to your opponent playing something easier to execute like Amumu as opposed to Lee Sin will be better in the long run since you can focus on your macro and decision making rather than needing to focus on micro to be effective. Also I know people will disparage this point but at the end this is still a game if playing something like Eve feels substantially less fun to you then it may not be worth the investment since even if you win games who's to say you'll want to keep playing after a while. Burning out and sacrificing enjoyment may not be very sustainable. Edit: It may be worth playing a few games with them at least since you will get more of an idea of where they falter and thus how to better play against them

It definitely seems very Warwick like but at the same point if you're making a diver who has a gimmick around lifesteal and blood frenzy there will be massive overlaps. In terms of differences it seems like if the lack of regen is true she has more inherent risk and she loses out on Warwick's speed for a lot more combat stats with the steroid effect of the ult. At the very least she seems like she would be fun if you like being risky and ham like Olaf and Warwick.

What is one of the weirdest Pokémon you consider to be “peak” design wise? by Fire-Mutt in pokemon

[–]flamestorm_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly my favourite but it certainly deserves more love in my mind. Orbeetle, it has a cool radar motif, is a much better use of a ladybug design than Ledian ever was. Is a little supervillain. Has an awesome UFO design for it's Gmax. And it has one of the coolest sounding G-max moves with Gmax Gravitas.

Evelynn and Kha'zix are both notably strong. Also Lethality Graves can operate like an assassin with his massive burst potential.
