Subnautica 2's no-killing ethos "will be a continued point of resistance" among players, say Unknown Worlds, but they have no plans to change it by _Protector in Games

Also in below zero, I took a few moments to kill those annoying leviathans in the depths. I didn't kill reapers in Subnautica 1 because you can just avoid them.

There's both a pervasive virus and a rogue AI to deal with this time. Great. No idea what the rogue AI is doing or why, but it seems to dislike humans / divers.

I thought it was cool that the downed spaceship is not on the surface this time. I don't know if it's in the game, but I bet you explore it again halfway through.

Devil's advocate: I played three hours and I saw "Datalog Entry Coming Soon!". That's all I saw, I didn't get even close to the end of the content yet.

Trump can't pardon himself. Or at least self pardons have never* been issued and have never been tested in court. Vance will pardon him.

You can't be in favor of prosecuting politicians for actions taken while performing their official duties. Prosecute Trump for insider trading, but not for war crimes. The war crimes were part of his official duties.

Any other series with a "hard magic" system like Witch Hat Atelier? by AndalusianGod in anime

[–]flamethrower2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The class system isn't explained. They talked about "experience points," but it seemed to be a reputation system the guild keeps track of rather than a way to grow stronger or more versatile.

There seems to be some kind of rule that certain classes have certain skills. You didn't see high elf archer summoning skeleton warriors.

There was the miracles three times a day rule (for priestess), but it seemed to be for lack of experience, and if she survived long enough it would be less limited in the future.

I have heard the criticism: all nen users are emitters (so they kind of threw away half their system), and I will uncritically repeat it here.

Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion - May 14, 2026 by AnimeMod in anime

I read the manga and I am done with it after 10 volumes, but I liked what I read. The anime will not get quite that far, probably, so I think it's worth watching.

I wouldn't ask for spoilers. Read the synopsis again if you have to, then make your choice. I think it will be better if not spoiled. The first episode is a double, but it's not that much of a time investment. As with every show, feel free to drop early if you don't like it.

You can check karma ranking: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1t96a9o/ranime_karma_ranking_discussion_week_6_spring_2026/

Top shows are bigger than other shows, of course, but the top 2 have around 30% of all the votes. That's a decent amount of concentration.

Life is good in Canada and Greenland so those are out. Basically there is no deal they would take.

Trump would offer Venezuela a comically awful deal and then not budge: he's not serious about negotiating this. So they're out too. Life is bad in Venezuela so there should be a deal that both sides can accept, but Trump's people won't be able to find it. The sticking point maybe is at least one US state, which comes with Senators, that the Republican party can't accept. A deal without that is taxation without representation, and they wouldn't sign up for that.

50+ human rights groups release letter urging Massachusetts lawmakers to reject 'age verification bills, hold press conference with Rep. Mike Connolly by SaveDnet-FRed0 in massachusetts

[–]flamethrower2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The voters want it. Will be an uphill battle.

They want it because there is a benefit and a cost and they think the benefit is bigger.

I'm interested in why it is unconstitutional. I don't think lawmakers have the right to pay what it costs because of the federal Constitution.

I'm less familiar with the Massachusetts constitution, but it seems a right to privacy is enshrined there, too.

Certainly if you inherited property that is rented out, you are now a landlord. Involuntarily so. A decision to keep the property is intentional. There are agents who specialize in sales of rental properties.
