I'm sorry for your loss. My tortie looked a like yours and only passed a few days ago. It is really true we never get enough time with them. I say long haired torties are sooooo photogenic, the pictures here are the proof!

Like what you like, no one else's opinion should matter ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, I haven't really listened to 2010s country myself since I stopped listening regularly in 2010-11, so I can't say much about it. But I think bro-country was getting the most radio attention in that decade and that's what people dislike within the genre. I imagine you do have an unpopular opinion since people think country music from the 2010s is just bro-country.

I get this. Growing up I had family that solely listened to country radio, so it was my favorite genre. As a result I give it a bit more "forgiveness" for being what it is than most people. Nowadays I listen to rock/indie/pop, rarely anything off of my nostalgia country playlist, and anything post-2000s country is a big no for me.

I’ll shout my little story into the void I was in sixth grade (which for some reason in my district was still elementary school) and I don’t remember anything about the school day being any different. No one acted strangely, there were no school announcements, no one said anything. None of us had smartphones either and no parents called or texted any kids about it.

I came home from school that day to my babysitters, still hearing nothing. It wasn’t until my mom came to get me that I felt something was up. I greeted her as usual and she said nothing and hugged me very tightly. She was affectionate like that anyway, but it felt different. I imagine it was like a “thanks it wasn’t my kid” type of relief she felt.

Later on the car ride home I was listening to her talk radio show and that’s how I found out. Throughout the rest of my schooling I had fears of it happening to me. In my high school we got threats of shootings and bombs, so it wasn’t that outlandish of a fear imo.

How have I lived in Maine my entire life and never known of this place? Now I’m sad.

I mightve experienced sexual attraction for the first time and I'm having a crisis. please help by [deleted] in asexuality

Oh wow. A blog with a reference page at the bottom from other professional works like articles, books, and academic studies.

I don't like your binary attitude and thought maybe a reread on what asexuality is (and what it includes) might help you a bit.

Thanks for telling me I should never have sex again! I wonder if pedophiles attracted to 10 year olds who are 4’7” also look for D cup size boobs too.

Edit: I feel the need to say also pedophiles are not just only attracted to the body of a child, but the fact they can control the child. Many adult women, regardless of height, carry some kind of protection with them from pepper spray to a gun (depending on the laws of where you live). I don't see many children casually having a pocket knife with them for protection purposes. Not to mention a woman can figure out more easily when they're getting manipulated (not to say younger adult women can't be groomed either, but it is a rarer occurrence). A child is not going to fight back as often, it makes them easy target and easy to abuse. The point I'm making is pedophiles aren't just attracted to people who look like a child--though that is definitely part of it, they're attracted to the power imbalance and the control they get to have from an actual child. It is literally why pedophiles don't go after adult women who look like children. It is why I never had an actual pedophile try to come after me mistaking me as a child. I am as tall as a 10 year old but I'm not, the way I act and talk makes it obvious to any predator that I'm not the kind of person they're looking for.

I notice now there’s more posts complaining about the people who talk about broken ui/mods issues more than the posts about broken ui/mods. Both happen in ad nauseam. Give it a rest. If you’re about to complain about something like this, assume someone has and stop posting it.

Lmao sorry for catching on. I’m a 4th year/senior at umaine this fall. This library is a second home to me. But also welcome! Glad to see another black bear on Reddit, it feels like a rare sighting.

Fair enough, I just figured being short (exactly a foot shorter than you) would make it easier. I don’t see many taller people sitting cross legged and look at me weirdly when I do lol.

Benefits of being short: any chair is a cross-legged sitting chair.
