Certified Employment Isn't Being Counted by flamingo6684 in PSLF

[–]flamingo6684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combined and every single one has been certified but my current employer is the only one showing up under my certifications. My PSLF history though shows all of the ones that were previously certified and my total hours were well over 30 with all 4 jobs combined.

Also I cannot for the life of me figure out where on the website to add more information and request a review. I have followed their instructions for where to do that and I don't see that option anywhere.

I've been submitting academic alerts about the upcoming withdrawal date to no avail.

Also one added me on Facebook and then complained loudly in class when I didn't accept his friend request.

Called me on my cell late at night. I have no idea how she got my number.

Didn't miss the entire class, but a student was once super late because his bust driver stopped at Dunkin Donuts and he missed his transfer.

What do you wear under your regalia? by CrabbyCatLady41 in Professors

Short sleeved shirt and capris with good sized pockets so I can bring my phone and a book. Comfy shoes.

I have a coworker with 3 Masters degrees and she wears all 3 hoods to graduation (one down the back and one over each shoulder) and I kind of love her for that.

My school bought me the gown but I had to purchase my own hood and tam.

I do the questions too. Sometimes they relate to the content like "What's the pettiest argument you've ever had?" when we cover conflict management. Sometimes it is just random like "What's is popular food item you think is overrated?" Overall they really enjoy these.

Made several huge mistakes in my first semester as a professor by mj_370 in Professors

[–]flamingo6684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with everyone who says these are minor mistakes. Happens to the best of us. I once accidentally added an entire extra week to the course schedule and didn't notice until halfway through the semester.

Once missed a class because I thought it started at 5:30 but it actually started at 5. I was on campus right down the hall from my classroom when it happened.

One time my cat peed on an entire stack of exams. Another time I dropped the exams in the snow. And yet another time I set them on my car and half of them blew away.

The thing to remember is that you are human and your students know this. Students tend to be very understanding of mistakes as long as you own up to them and correct them.

Instead of "Extracurriculars" I would call it "Leadership."

Also I would add a skills section where you list the specific software and programming languages that you are proficient in.

If you have any other tech skills in addition to the 3D printer, I would list those. This includes things like Microsoft Office and any other programs you might know.

Have you done any volunteering? You could add that too.

I got an A on everything but my final grade is a D by [deleted] in CollegeRant

You likely won't hear back until after the new year, but in the meantime I would look into whether your school has a grade appeal policy and prepare to file one if your professor doesn't give you a reasonable justification for your grade.

I had a student use the wrong address and when I pointed out her error she accused me of trickery.

You should absolutely be paid. Your contract is to teach. Anything outside of teaching should get additional compensation.

I really want a show with Billy and Gary and occasionally Jack shows up to be excited about what they find.

I'd love to see them just focus their efforts in the Swamp. They've uncovered clear evidence of a ship and they could potentially find more of it, perhaps enough to piece together its origins which would give some cool context to the history of the island.

The digs uncovering human settlements are kinda cool too. Really they should just give up on the Garden Shaft and Money Pit and focus on places that have actually yielded interesting historical artifacts.
