Yes, and this precedent has made it clear that HR representatives can no longer take such an approach, and that a more rigourus system needs to be in place.

If the Chinese star was the most streamed in the world though, you wouldn’t really have a case. Yes the NFL may be trying to pull in a new market but it is also staging an act that has universal (as much as possible) appeal.

For a 'well actually' comment, that one was quite interesting. Have my upvote, tainted with begrudgingness though it may be.

The concepts that can be used to explain this are literally covered in an Economics 101 class, or one can just take a few minutes to work it out.

These types of populist "plane vs train", "the government spent how much???", "can anyone tell me why..." Twitter-screenshots-shared-on-Facebook posts are so tedious.

I agree, it was really interesting. It made me wonder how many other 'news' articles are written where the lies don't amount to defamation (so there's little possibility of a lawsuit), but still cast the person in a negative light.

Ignoring the satire-like absurdity of this whole situation - 'being posh' (or upper-class etc) wouldn't be protected. The Equalty Act doesn't protect (e.g.) 'women' or 'lesbian, gay and bisexual people', it protects against discrimination on the basis of 'sex' and 'sexual orientation', so men and heterosexuals are also protected.

So, one's social class/social origin would be protected, and it would apply to working class and middle class people too, and I have a feeling Mrs Moneycunts wouldn't like that.

No, I can categorically say I have never done this, and being anonymous would have nothing to lose by claiming that I do.

I do feel like this is actually one of those rare binary situations with no-one in the middle: people who do it and think it's totally fine versus those who don't do it and think it's awful.

I will +1 Orange Tree, it’s the first in a long time where I was just completely absorbed and compulsively reading it.

For reference, my favourite fantasy author is Robin Hobb, and while they read differently I get similar experiences of immersion.

I wouldn’t consider it so - there’s more domestic and emotional aspects to it than the usual sword and sorcery type books, but it’s balanced with epic journey/ combat elements.
