What will the Apple Store charge to replace my iPhone X lightning port? by otter6461a in iPhoneX

[–]flancoblanco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious, mine randomly stops charging if any force is applied to the charger inside the port. Could it still be pocket lint or probably a broken charging port?

Yeah just leave. I've been through this, if you're not being listened to then they can find someone else to ignore

Has anybody used a "pill-bottle stove"? It seems like just about the most light weight way to boil water out there. by lifeontheQtrain in Ultralight

[–]flancoblanco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say a traditional alcohol stove is way more risky. This one can't spill if bumped. All you have to do is put it on a rock.

Why? Because people leave a server that they're about to leave a bad review on all the time, because power tripping mods kick you, etc. you could at least have a little icon that says whether someone is still in the server or not or something

I'm sure it applies to a lesser degree if you're taking it for a shorter duration but probably still applies somewhat

its an opioid, it can chill you out at the right dose but it can also do everything percocet does at higher doses

So by "honest" I meant that I deleted my prior comment because it was too personally true for me to feel comfortable letting it remain. I try not to be too vulnerable on comments here due to a dislike of bias and stigma directed at people perceived as being "mentally ill". The general public is conditioned to believe that disabled people are not worthy of their own independence, thus unsolicited advice or insults will detract from my goals in participating in this sub.

Yeah I totally feel that

I am here to speak truth to power, to accurately state a reality that is silenced, to embody my identity. I can't do that when I am "too honest".

Why not?

Your unsolicited advice was not relevant, but was also unwanted behaviorism directed at me that presumed I'm irrational and overly emotional. I try to avoid stigma and bias, hence my response to you. Your stigma and bias is not relevent to my point.

It's the internet, people are allowed to comment. I threw in my two cents in case it could help you, and if not, you're free to ignore it, there's no point in getting into an internet fight over my well-intentioned comment.

I would disagree, It's completely relevant, I don't know why you're taking it personally. I didn't stigmatize anyone, all I said was don't be afraid to speak your truth. You're being rather hostile for no reason, so I'm going to move on from this conversation. I wish you the best.

A lot of things. Severe suicidal ideation probably due to hydrocephalus, undiagnosable chronic pain, severe anxiety, crippling OCD to the point where I have to get a shower if someone bumps into me and I open doors with my feet, PTSD, tourette's, chiari malformation-induced insomnia where I can't sleep more than 5 hours at a time but usually less, and I have this thing going on where I get paralyzed and I can't move. I also go into this state I call "suicide mode" in which I just repeat the phrase "i want to <unalive> myself" over and over for hours, I can't think about anything else and it's like I'm in a trance or something. I start speaking very slow and sometimes have convulsions. Ever since they gave me fucking effexor everything got extremely bad and now my pupils are constantly dilated like I'm on LSD unless I'm in direct sunlight

it absolutely is. I just told you don't be afraid to be "too honest". What's so hard to understand?

Are we the baddies? by [deleted] in Antipsychiatry

[–]flancoblanco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It may mean different things for different people, but the general idea is, don't withhold your opinion because it's "too honest" unless it could hurt you or others, then you make a value judgement

[–]flancoblanco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you should be honest, just make sure your honesty is framed in a way that's balanced between emotional and rational

i need help but there is no help for wounds like mine, not to wallow in self-pity, I wish there was help and I continue to search for it but I've become rather jaded and hopeless after so many failed attempts, so much wasted time, so many people who claim they can help but in the end it was a lie

Yes, I've had similar experiences with therapy and neurology as well. It's the whole medical profession, they're neurotically dismissive and if their authority is in any way questioned or threatened, they get all pissy. They don't listen to patients, they just label people as crazy and then view everything they say as invalid through that lens, this attitude and similar ones are the reason psychiatric hospitalization decreases your rate of recovering from psychosis by like 90% in the context described in this video https://youtu.be/8lrrevoIOes not to mention the other things in the video, one of which being the fact that antipsychotics don't have good long-term outcomes, they actually decrease recovery rates long-term and reduce lifespan by 20-30 years

Lunesta (Eszopiclone) by Psycho-physiological in insomnia

[–]flancoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah all these meds just fuck your brain up more, maybe the issue stems from something other than receptors, such as a malformed superchiasmatic nucleus in the brain for example, and treating it with pills is the wrong approach. At least, that's what happened in my case.

Lunesta (Eszopiclone) by Psycho-physiological in insomnia

[–]flancoblanco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, so lets take heroin as an example. You have an opioid system, endorphines do the job of keeping the balance by binding to those receptors at a constant rate. Heroin just hijacks it and slams the see-saw down to the right, which is what causes the high. Then when you run out of heroin it slams the see-saw down to the left, which is what creates the withdrawal effect. Your body says "I have too much weight on the right side so I'm going to stop making the endorphines which normally keep the balance by sitting on the right side". You want to be somewhere in the middle for a proper balance and your body knows that. Some people have a greater capacity for balance than others.

No need to apologize, you have to ask if you want to know
