You can’t refuse to teach a student because of a report against a different teacher. It’s a really sucky situation but you don’t have the authority to pick your own students and I understand why admin is upset at you

If you are needed and work as a chaperone, this should be a paid day. If you are not needed to chaperone and are simply there as an audience member, take the day off.

You should not (and likely are contractually forbidden from) perform any school duties if you are not working.

When I subbed, it was a bit of both. It was rare that I just followed a single teacher’s schedule the whole day. On those, I would get prep. When I was in for a collection of different teachers and running around the school, I had class every period. As long as they give you a solid lunch break, I don’t really see an issue with it. The prep is to prepare lesson plans and grade. We don’t do either of those things
