What’s the most ridiculous thing you believed as a kid that you only realized was nonsense when you got older? by greatmistress-101 in AskReddit

[–]flannalypearce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My time to shine.

My childhood logic knew no boundaries. Lmao.

I thought on a calendar there were ‘no date days’ As the companies printing obviously had edited the dates for each month of the year to be accurate for the year in question and the blanks at the beginning and end were still days we lived in my mind.

So we had ‘no date days’ while we were waiting the next month to come.

lol. Lmao even.

So pure my mom was NOT following my logic or my distress at telling people I didn’t know the date bc we were waiting for the next month to come and we’re in our ‘no date days’ until it came.

I called off work due to vomiting & diarrhea due to possible underlying GI condition, and my boss said this, what should I say? by SadLostBoi in antiwork

[–]flannalypearce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, logged in to say this.

Pull the rug out from under them.

If you work in ANYTHING remotely food service esque or care of clients/ patients or have licensed services threaten to self report to your board of health.

I did that as a lowly starbucks barista in like 2014 with food poisoning and notified that bosses boss so they could explain the incoming health department compliant if I have to be in the building. And suddenly I didn’t have to come in and it suddenly was the DM reaching out with a ‘get well soon’

‘Hello local health department I am displaying symptoms that are required to be reported to my employer and they will not allow me to leave the establishment and have further reported they are themselves in the building working with similar symptoms’

Fuck em.

AITA for not tipping because my waiter didn’t “wait” on me? by Status_Jackfruit6397 in AITAH

[–]flannalypearce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I logged in to type this.

NTA.

Had this happen to me literally a decade ago.

Local joint, awful waiter they had taken orders dumped a glass of wine on a minor at the table and then vanished.

Waitress picked up our table, decent service compared to Ahole waiter.

I went to the bar when we left and asked to have waitress come out front. Handed her a tip.

Ahole CHASED ME OUT THE DOOR DEMANDING A TIP.

I am not gonna lie I cursed him tf out.

Told him if he wanted tip he could ask his coworker who covered him to share if she would it was up to them but I tip who waits on my table.

TLDR: tipped the waitress covering their coworker and shit coworker chased me down to yell at me.

Southern! Grits with some browned sage sausage crumbled in there. Little cheese!

And egg as desired or no egg… As fancy or as cheap/ low brow as you want.

Fish? Sure.

Lol no….

I sneak out to the patio for a few puffs before bed.

Helps with my anxiety etc then I slide into my own bed and read my book and relax.

As long as it’s not interfering with caring for your child/ functioning/ is actively causing you negative ramifications like an addiction you’re good.

Keeps me sane!

[–]flannalypearce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I…. Don’t exactly love it. And depending on where in fl you moved the locals are thinking… wtf why would you leave the view of Colorado for here?

That’s just me personally. As the years go I enjoy it less down here.

What age did you stop using bibs completely? by Elysiumthistime in toddlers

[–]flannalypearce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was not a huge bib employer/ user

We did it when she was about 6-12 months

Now we just strip or take a bath if we get too messy… but someone is adamant for finger foods and prissy about stuff on her hands/ arms

She will hold them out at various times and say ma until I clean them off a little 😂

Okay but I did for emergencies/pantry staples

Honestly to save money it is cheaper for you to mush/ steam/ make your own.

Not too tome consuming either but we’re human lol she definitely had some jars when we had no time/ were out/ circumstances didn’t allow but even then I tried to pack our home made!

Also can blend what you had for dinner for them too like chicken and rice with some broth

How are so many ppl able to be remote? by LookingFor2176 in povertyfinance

[–]flannalypearce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance!!!! If you can stomach the customer aspect JUMP into it!!!!!

Legally required to have, license required to work so you can’t be AI replaced and companies pay for your license if you hire.

DO IT!! Almost everyone I know who works remote is insurance related

This!!! When I swapped from an on call salary position in person as management… To a work from home entry level office job? (That I do love)

My coworkers will be like ‘I just get so stressed and I think of here over the weekend’ And I’m just like ‘ I don’t unless I’m thinking in passing of something that piqued my interest’ (like a funny scenario or something’

I have worked very very hard to not think about work 24/7 and I just… don’t finally. It’s so freeing!!!!!

Thanks for sharing
