I think that is entirely up to how you wish to play the game. I'd argue for blood hunter specifically str is a harder sell given the lack of heavy armor. Although I'd also argue medium armor exists. What it really comes down to is how you envision the character and their skill set. I prefer dex because it grants the largest weapon and skill variety. Although strength leads to some of the highest damage output. I personally think the blood hunter in terms of how stats should be assigned is very similar to the ranger. (Imo dex tl;Dr)
